Aion 2 is preparing one of its biggest updates since launch as the game approaches its 100-day milestone in Asia.
Following a recent developer livestream, NCSoft has revealed a massive anniversary update bringing new systems, PvP changes, quality-of-life improvements, and limited-time rewards to the game. The update is set to roll out on Korean and Taiwanese servers starting February 25 and is already generating strong interest ahead of the global release expected later in 2026.
Here’s what players can expect from the 100-day anniversary update.
Major PvP and Abyss Changes
PvP and Abyss systems are receiving some of the most significant adjustments in the update.
Developers confirmed:
- Reduced ranking point loss on death for high-ranked players
- Caps on maximum point loss to prevent extreme setbacks
- Simplified nameplates in large-scale PvP battles for better performance
- PvP accuracy and combat adjustments
- Upcoming “Chaos Abyss” matched PvP mode arriving soon
These changes aim to make high-level PvP more accessible while improving performance during massive battles.
New Systems and Progression Updates
The anniversary update also introduces several new progression systems designed to streamline character growth and build diversity.
New features include:
- Universal Arcana system (“Scales”) for skill enhancement
- Updated Daevanion board with guaranteed enhancement nodes
- Additional progression materials and crafting updates
- Improved item assembly and gear stabilization systems
These changes are intended to smooth progression and reduce frustration tied to RNG-heavy upgrades.
Quality-of-Life Improvements Across the Game
A large portion of the update focuses on convenience and daily gameplay improvements.
Players can expect:
- Instant dungeon completion tickets
- Improved material storage and inventory options
- Duplicate prevention for certain upgrade items
- Workshop creation unlocks
- Retroactive currency refunds for past system costs
- Improved UI and map clarity
While individually small, these updates significantly improve the overall experience for active players.
Anniversary Events and Rewards
To celebrate the 100-day milestone, the update introduces multiple anniversary events and login rewards.
Players will be able to earn:
- Cosmetics and enhancement materials
- Progression items
- Limited-time coupons and bonuses
- Attendance rewards for logging in
Special event codes and anniversary gifts are also being distributed through official channels and livestream promotions.
Looking Ahead to Global Release
Although the anniversary update is currently launching in Asia, it also offers a preview of systems and improvements that will likely appear in the global version later this year.
Developers continue to position Aion 2 as a long-term live-service MMO with frequent updates, system refinements, and seasonal content. With strong early performance and consistent development, the game’s global rollout remains one of the most anticipated MMO launches of 2026.
For now, the 100-day anniversary update marks another major step forward — and shows that Aion 2’s momentum is still building.
