AION Classic’s Faction Change Event Finally Lets Elyos Switch to Asmodians

For the first time in AION Classic, Gameforge is letting players change their faction from Elyos to Asmodian. The new Faction Change event runs from March 18 at 9:00 AM to April 8 at 9:00 AM CEST, and it requires a special [Event] Faction Change Ticket to go through with the switch.

A Long-Teased Feature Is Now Live

This is not coming completely out of nowhere. Back in August 2025, Gameforge’s Product Manager letter said a Faction Change Ticket was being developed for AION Classic and targeted for release with Update 4.0 Part 3 in Europe. Now that feature has finally arrived as a limited event.

One Free Ticket, Two Paid Options

Gameforge says the Faction Change Ticket is available up to 3 times per account in total: 1 free ticket and 2 paid tickets. The free version can be claimed once per account during the event period, while the paid version can be bought by Elyos characters for 2,000 Quna each in the AION Classic shop. Both free and paid tickets are only available until April 8 at 8:59 AM, and the tickets are removed during server maintenance at 9:00 AM on April 8, 2026.

There Are Some Important Requirements

Not every character can just flip factions instantly. To use the event, your character must be Elyos, at least level 60, and located in Sanctum. You also need 1 Event Faction Change Ticket, no active legion membership or join requests, no group or alliance, no active battlefield or arena registration, no stigmas socketed, nothing listed in the auction house, and an empty mailbox.

The Change Happens Through AION Look

Gameforge says the faction swap is handled through AION Look. Players open the system with the eligible Elyos character, click the Change Faction button, review the detailed information covering things like items, skills, rank, quests, and more, and then confirm the change by using the event ticket.

This Is a One-Way Move

The most important warning in the whole post is also the simplest one: once the faction change is completed, it cannot be reversed or restored. So this is not one of those “try it out and swap back later” features. If you move your Elyos character into the Asmodian faction, that decision sticks.

Why This Matters for AION Classic

This is a pretty big moment for AION Classic, because faction identity has always been one of the core pillars of the game. Letting players move from light to shadow is not just a cosmetic gimmick or a small account service. It can affect server balance, player communities, legion plans, and how people approach the game’s current PvP environment. That last part is an inference, but it follows directly from the fact that Gameforge is introducing a real faction transfer system with strict limits and account caps.

The Short Version

If you have been sitting on an Elyos character and secretly thinking life might be better on the darker side of Atreia, this is your shot. AION Classic’s Faction Change event is now live, gives one free ticket per account, allows up to two extra paid transfers, and lets eligible Elyos characters switch to Asmodians until April 8. Just make sure you are absolutely certain before clicking confirm, because Gameforge is very clear that there is no undo button waiting on the other side.
