AION 2 Adds Another European Server Pair as Global Population Keeps Growing

AION 2 apparently looked at Europe's already considerable server list and decided there was still room for two more names.

NC has opened another European server pair following the Global launch, adding Nathara for Elyos players and Tassin for Asmodians. The two servers opened on October 8 at 18:00 CEST, continuing a remarkably aggressive expansion of AION 2's European capacity during its first weeks.

Players creating new characters in Europe therefore have another fresh pair available rather than being pushed toward worlds that have already accumulated several days of progression.

Nathara and Tassin Are the New European Pair

The setup follows AION 2's unusual server structure. Rather than putting Elyos and Asmodians on opposite factions of the same home server, each world belongs to a single faction.

  • Nathara: Elyos
  • Tassin: Asmodian
  • Opened: October 8 at 18:00 CEST

The two worlds form another faction pair for European players. If the system still feels slightly strange, our complete AION 2 launch server list explains how the faction-specific worlds and their pairings work.

Europe Is Now AION 2's Largest Server Region

The more interesting story is the scale.

Europe now has 46 individual AION 2 servers. For comparison, the current Global infrastructure lists 16 in NA East, 10 in NA West, 12 in South America and 18 across Asia.

Europe therefore has more individual worlds than any other Global region, and Nathara and Tassin are only the latest additions.

That expansion began almost immediately after Advanced Access. NC repeatedly added capacity as player demand grew, including the 12 additional Advanced Access servers we covered before the free launch. Another large batch arrived with the October 5 release, followed by further worlds as hundreds of thousands of players entered the game.

The timing makes sense. AION 2 peaked at 397,905 concurrent Steam players during its Global launch, without counting anyone playing through NC's PURPLE client.

Should New Players Pick Nathara or Tassin?

If you are starting fresh in Europe, there is a genuine advantage to considering the new worlds.

The obvious one is progression. Older servers already contain players who have spent several days farming Field Bosses, completing weekly content and pushing their gear well beyond the early campaign. A newly opened server gives incoming players a much younger economy and population.

You also do not lose access to ordinary instanced group content simply because you pick a newer world. AION 2 supports cross-server instanced content, including dungeons, so choosing a less established server does not mean waiting alone outside every Expedition entrance.

The main consideration remains friends and faction. If your group is already established somewhere else, creating a new character purely because the server is fresh may create more inconvenience than it solves.

Server Transfers Are Coming on October 14

There is also a safety net approaching quickly.

NC has confirmed that AION 2 server transfers begin October 14 and will initially be free. Transfers remain faction-locked, and Advanced Access characters will initially be restricted to other Advanced Access servers rather than October 5 Launch Servers.

That means server choice still matters, but it is becoming considerably less permanent than it felt on launch day.

For new European players, Nathara and Tassin are therefore exactly what they appear to be: two fresh places to start without squeezing into one of the older worlds.

Considering Europe is now sitting on 46 individual servers, AION 2's first Global week has certainly produced worse problems than needing somewhere to put everybody.
