AION 2 Global Release Date Is October 5, With Early Access Starting September 30

The waiting is almost over. AION 2 will officially launch globally on October 5, 2026, bringing NC's long-awaited MMORPG sequel to Western players after almost a year of watching the Korean version evolve from afar. Players who purchase one of the game's Founder's Packs will not have to wait quite that long, with five days of Advanced Access beginning on September 30.

The date is now confirmed through both the official AION 2 global website and the game's Steam page, finally replacing the broad 2026 release window NC gave us earlier this year. When we first covered AION 2's confirmed global release plans back in February, the important news was simply that the game was coming West. Seven months later, we can finally start counting the remaining days rather than fiscal quarters.

AION 2 Launches Globally on October 5

The full global release arrives on October 5 as a free-to-play PC MMORPG. Players will be able to access AION 2 through Steam and NC's PURPLE platform, with the Steam listing confirming support for online PvP, online co-op and in-game purchases.

NC describes AION 2 as a vastly expanded successor built around aerial exploration and combat. According to the Steam listing, its world is approximately 36 times larger than the original AION, with verticality playing a central role in exploration and battles rather than flight simply being a convenient way to cross the map.

That is a rather substantial step up from the original game's famous wings. In AION 2, apparently, the sky is no longer just somewhere you occasionally go when the flight meter allows it. It is part of the battlefield.

Advanced Access Begins September 30

Players purchasing any of the three Founder's Packs receive five days of Advanced Access beginning September 30. The Standard Founder's Pack is currently listed at $24.99 on Steam, with Deluxe at $49.99 and Ultimate at $99.99. All three include the five-day head start, while the more expensive versions add additional cosmetic items and other bonuses.

The Standard pack also includes a 30-day membership, a Daeva's Campaign Supply Chest and the exclusive Vanguard of Atreia title. Deluxe adds additional skins and weapon cosmetics, while Ultimate adds further character styling items, a Black Dragon pet and Blazing Sun Wings.

None of that is required to play AION 2 once the game launches on October 5. Players who are happy to wait five additional days can simply enter when the free-to-play version opens.

You Can Play AION 2 Before September 30

There is actually one opportunity to get into Atreia even earlier. NC is running the AION 2 Launch Scale Test beginning September 17, giving global players two six-hour sessions to test the game before release. The level cap is 37, several economy systems are disabled and all progression will be wiped when testing ends, but participation is free.

That makes September unusually busy for a game that spent much of this year feeling frustratingly distant. First comes the Launch Scale Test, then Advanced Access, and finally the full October 5 release.

PC Comes First, but Consoles Are Already Planned

October's release is PC-only, but NC is already looking beyond Steam and PURPLE. Game Director Namjoon Kim recently confirmed that an AION 2 console version is already being prepared, although no console platforms or release date have been announced yet.

PC and console cross-play is also far from guaranteed. NC has suggested that differences in platform usage, gameplay and launch timing could make shared play difficult, meaning the future console version may end up with a somewhat separate ecosystem.

For October, however, the message is simple: PC comes first.

From Korean Success to a Global Launch

AION 2 originally launched in South Korea in November 2025 and quickly became one of NC's most important recent PC releases. Since then, the developer has continued expanding progression, dungeons and economic systems, including controversial changes such as the introduction of Bound Kinah. The 2026 AION 2 roadmap also made it clear that NC intends to keep adding content rather than treating launch as the finish line.

For global players, though, all of that has mostly been something happening somewhere else. That changes now.

September 17 brings the test. September 30 brings Advanced Access. October 5 brings the full global launch.

After months of release windows, financial reports, Korean patches and speculation, AION 2 finally has the one thing every MMO eventually needs: a date when everyone else gets to play it.

Aion 2’s March 18 Update Adds HUD Editing, System Changes, and More

Aion 2 has rolled out a fresh March 18 update, and while this one is not being sold as some giant expansion-style bombshell, it still touches a lot of systems players actually care about. NCSOFT’s official update note lists changes tied to Dungeon Waiting Room, HUD Editing, Combat Power, Presets, Sanctuary, Material Conversion, Sand Breeze Shop item changes, and class adjustments. The company also confirmed that the scheduled March 18 regular maintenance has been completed, meaning the update is now live in-game.

HUD Editing Is One of the Clear Headline Features

The easiest attention-grabber in this update is HUD Editing. For players who like tweaking their interface instead of letting the game decide where every single element should live forever, this is one of the more useful quality-of-life additions in the patch. NCSOFT explicitly calls out HUD editing as one of the update’s core system changes, which suggests the team is continuing to smooth out the everyday play experience rather than focusing only on raw content drops.

That may not sound flashy in the same way a new dungeon or class reveal does, but interface improvements usually matter more than they get credit for. In an MMO, players stare at their UI constantly. Giving them more control over that layout is the kind of feature that quietly improves everything from PvE rotations to group content readability and general moment-to-moment comfort. That last point is an inference based on the feature category itself, but it is exactly why UI customization tends to land well with active players.

This Patch Looks Broader Than a Single-Feature Update

What makes the March 18 patch more interesting is that it clearly is not just “the HUD patch.” The official note groups together changes across Dungeon Waiting Room, Combat Power, Presets, Sanctuary, Material Conversion, Sand Breeze Shop adjustments, and class changes. That gives the update a much broader feel, even if NCSOFT’s search snippet does not expose every single line item in full.

From a player perspective, that matters because it suggests the patch is aimed at both convenience and progression. Waiting-room flow, combat power visibility, presets, and conversion systems are the kind of systems that shape how a game feels over time, especially once players settle into routine weekly content. Sanctuary and class changes only add to that sense that this is a maintenance-week update with real gameplay implications rather than filler hidden behind a date stamp.

A Good Sign for Players Watching Aion 2’s Ongoing Support

This update also fits the pattern Aion 2 has been showing since launch in Korea and Taiwan: NCSOFT is continuing to iterate on the game in smaller but meaningful chunks instead of letting issues and clunky systems sit untouched for months. Earlier official update and notice posts this month already focused on things like dungeon flow, Sanctuary systems, and known-issue follow-ups, so the March 18 note feels like another step in that same live-service rhythm.

That matters because Aion 2 is no longer just a “watch this project” MMO. NCSOFT’s own newsroom said in January that the game had already passed KRW 100 billion in revenue within 46 days and more than 1 million characters created, which makes ongoing system updates like this worth paying attention to even when they are not headline-grabbing spectacle patches.

The Main Takeaway

The short version is simple: Aion 2’s March 18 update is live, HUD editing is one of the standout additions, and the patch also reaches into core systems like dungeon flow, presets, Sanctuary, conversion, shop changes, and class balance. That is enough to make it a meaningful update for active players, even if it is not the sort of patch that arrives with a dramatic cinematic trailer and a giant monster screaming in the background.

AION Live Maintenance Scheduled for March 18

AION Live players in Europe have another maintenance window coming up, with Gameforge confirming that the game’s weekly maintenance is scheduled for Wednesday, March 18. According to the official post, both web services and servers will go offline starting at 8:00 AM CET.

Servers and Web Services Will Be Offline

The announcement is a straightforward maintenance notice rather than a major patch reveal, but it is still worth keeping on the radar if you planned to log in early. Gameforge does not list a specific end time in the post, only the start time for the downtime.

Current Seasons and Events Continue

The useful part of the notice is that it also confirms which seasonal systems and events remain active after the reset. Gameforge says Atreian Boosts continue until March 25, Daeva Pass remains active until April 8, while Honor Points and Lord’s Relic / Amulet still show end dates as to be announced.

On the event side, 8.6 Support Event and Little Devil’s Temptation both continue until April 8, with Little Devil NPCs and items removed that same day. Flower Bouquet runs until March 25, and Tiamaranta’s Eye stays live until June 3.

A Small Update, But a Useful Reminder

This is not one of those maintenance posts hiding a surprise feature drop behind a boring headline. It is mostly a practical heads-up for active players: servers are going down on the morning of March 18, and the current 8.6-era events and seasonal systems are staying in place once maintenance is over. In other words, no drama, no giant patch notes, just the usual MMO reminder that the server will always pick the worst possible time to go offline.

AION Classic’s New Daeva Pass Season Begins With the March 18 Reset

AION Classic is rolling into another Daeva Pass refresh, with Gameforge’s maintenance notes for March 18 listing a new Daeva Pass as part of the reset and showing the season running until April 15. That makes this one of the clearest “log in and check your progression track” updates for Classic players this week, especially with the previous pass cycling out at the same time.

A Fresh Season Means a Fresh Reward Grind

Gameforge has not treated Daeva Pass seasons as minor side content for a long time now. In its standard Classic format, the pass is built around daily, weekly, and seasonal missions, giving players a structured way to stack up rewards just by playing through regular content. Earlier official Daeva Pass posts show the same familiar setup: mission-based progression, a free reward track, and a premium unlock layered on top.

Premium Unlocks Are Still Part of the Formula

If this new season follows the usual Gameforge Classic template, players will once again be looking at a 1,320 Quna premium unlock. Previous official posts show that premium Daeva Pass seasons typically add better loot, extra progression value, and a Premium Gift Chest sent out to eligible legion members, which is exactly the kind of thing that turns a simple battle pass into a quiet little peer-pressure machine for guilds and regular groups.

Why This One Matters Right Now

The timing is what makes this worth posting today. AION Classic already has Bunny Hunt in Atreia starting on March 18, so the new Daeva Pass gives players another reason to be active immediately instead of waiting a few days and pretending they will “catch up later.” In MMO language, that usually means missing half the easy progress and then getting annoyed at yourself on the final weekend.

The Main Takeaway

The big picture is simple: March 18 is reset day for AION Classic, and the new Daeva Pass season is part of that package. Even if Gameforge’s full reward breakdown is the part players will care about most once they log in, the important thing for now is that a new pass cycle is arriving, the old one is done, and the new season is slated to run until April 15. For Classic players, that is more than enough reason to start planning the next month of routine grinding, reward chasing, and telling yourself this season will definitely be the one where you stay on top of everything from day one.

AION Classic’s Bunny Hunt in Atreia Starts March 18

AION Classic is getting a fresh seasonal event, and this one leans hard into full MMO spring chaos: angry rabbits, event quests, an event pass, and a pile of rewards. Gameforge’s official post confirms that Bunny Hunt in Atreia runs from March 18 at 9:00 AM to April 8 at 9:00 AM CEST and is available for characters level 60 and up.

Crazy Bunnies Have Invaded the Dokkaebi Realm

According to Gameforge, the event sends players into the Dokkaebi Realm to help the Shugos Hoppinerk and Bunninerk deal with a full-on bunny infestation. The quest chain unlocks step by step, starting with killing 10 Crazy Bunnies, then 30, and finally 100.

The Reward List Is Actually Pretty Solid

Completing the event quests can earn players rewards including Major Ancient Crowns, [Event] Enchantment Stone (Level 120), and the [Event] [Motion Card] Happy Snacks Idle (30 days). On top of that, the bunnies themselves can drop loot such as an [Event] Apostle Box, Heroic Manastone Chest, Pacification Armour Chest, and several Balaurea Chronicle materials.

There’s Also a Bunny Hunt Event Pass

Gameforge is also attaching an event pass to Bunny Hunt. The pass mission window runs from March 25 at 9:00 AM to April 6 at 8:59 AM CEST, reward collection stays open until April 8 at midnight CEST, and players can exchange coins until April 15 at 8:59 AM CEST.

The pass includes daily, weekly, and seasonal missions, with rewards such as [Event] Soot Bunny’s Easter Crowns and [Event] Enchantment Stone (Level 110). Players can also spend 1,400 Quna to unlock premium rewards, which adds more crowns and a Heroic Manastone Chest to the mix.

A Good Little Classic Event for March

This is not a giant expansion-style update, but it is exactly the kind of event AION Classic players can use right now: simple structure, decent rewards, and enough timed progression to make people log in before telling themselves they will “do it later.” And in MMO terms, “later” usually means never.

Aion 2’s March 11 Update Adds Cross-Faction Dungeons, New Sanctuary Content, and a Big Weekly Reward Shake-Up

Aion 2 just dropped one of its more interesting updates yet, and yes, it includes the kind of feature that would have sounded slightly cursed not that long ago: Elyos and Asmodians can now queue together for certain dungeon content.

In the March 11 update, NCSOFT added cross-faction play to Expedition, Transcendence, and Sanctuary dungeons, allowing players from opposing factions to group up and enter that content through the same matchmaking flow. For a game built on faction identity, that is a pretty big shift.

Cross-Faction Grouping Is Now Live

This is the headline change, and it is easy to see why players are paying attention.

The update means Elyos and Asmodians can now form mixed groups for select dungeon activities. That does not mean Aion 2 has suddenly abandoned its faction-based identity, but it does show NCSOFT is willing to get practical when it comes to endgame accessibility and queue times.

According to the update details, players can also communicate across factions in these runs through party, force, and dungeon chat. Sanctuary-related restrictions around kisks were loosened as well, which makes the whole system feel less like a weird exception and more like a deliberate systems change.

Sanctuary Just Got Bigger

If cross-faction grouping was not enough on its own, the patch also introduced new Sanctuary content with Erosion Purifier now unlocked.

That gives players another meaningful piece of content to work into their weekly loop, while also making the patch feel more substantial than just a technical matchmaking update. This was not some tiny backend tweak hidden inside a maintenance note. It is a real content patch with real progression implications.

Rudra Gets Fewer Runs but Better Rewards

One of the more interesting balance changes in the patch hits Abyss Refinement: Rudra.

The weekly number of challenge entries has been reduced from four runs to two, but the compensation is simple: the reward boxes from the mid-bosses have been upgraded so players now receive double the previous reward amount.

That is actually a pretty smart kind of MMO adjustment. Less repetitive weekly grind, better rewards per run, and a little less of that classic “log in, repeat chores, question life choices” rhythm that tends to creep into live-service games sooner or later.

Progression Changes That Actually Matter

The update also expands the Potential Enhancement system in a way players will probably notice right away.

NCSOFT confirmed that unique-grade dedicated gear obtained from field bosses can now be used with Potential Enhancement. That gives field boss loot more long-term value and makes those drops feel more relevant to progression instead of becoming inventory clutter with ambition.

Small change on paper, maybe. Not small if you are the kind of player who hoards gear because you are absolutely sure it will matter later.

Class Tweaks Are Part of the Package

The March 11 patch also includes balance changes and fixes for multiple classes, including Gladiator, Ranger, Chanter, Spiritmaster, and Sorcerer.

One of the more noticeable updates is for Ranger, where Breath of Nature was changed from reducing magic damage by 10% to reducing all damage by 20%, along with related specialization adjustments. That is the kind of line that tends to make theorycrafters sit up straight and start testing immediately.

It is not a full class overhaul patch, but it is enough to show that NCSOFT is still actively tuning combat and class performance rather than just letting the meta fossilize.

White Day Event Adds a Seasonal Bonus

The patch is not all dungeons, bosses, and stat tuning.

NCSOFT also confirmed a White Day event running from March 14 through March 18 before maintenance, with in-game mail rewards that include sweets and buff items. It is a smaller addition compared to the dungeon and progression changes, but it helps round out the update and gives players one more reason to log in during the event window.

What This Patch Says About Aion 2

The bigger takeaway here is that Aion 2 still looks like a game willing to make structural changes fairly quickly.

NCSOFT officially launched the game in Korea and Taiwan on November 19, 2025, and updates like this suggest the team is actively refining how players group up, progress, and spend their time in endgame systems. That matters, because the difference between a promising MMO and an exhausting one usually comes down to whether the developers are willing to touch the systems that actually shape the daily experience.

This patch does exactly that.

The Short Version

For players already in Aion 2, the message is pretty clear: cross-faction dungeon play is now live, Sanctuary got expanded, Rudra got streamlined, and progression systems just became more flexible.

For everyone else watching from the sidelines, this is the kind of patch that makes the game look more modern, more practical, and a bit less obsessed with making players suffer for tradition.

Because sometimes the true evolution of an MMO is not a giant new cinematic trailer. Sometimes it is just letting people get into the dungeon without faction politics turning the group finder into a hostage situation.
