AION 2 Just Made Its Free Quest Wings Much Better

AION 2's October 9 maintenance contains a surprisingly useful gift for everyone who has been following the story instead of immediately disappearing into dungeons, Field Boss timers and whatever economic experiment the Market has become this morning.

NC has increased the Flight Power of all four quest-obtained Daeva wings by 500 each. Taken together, that adds another 2,000 Flight Power to the normal progression path, and because these bonuses are tied to wing ownership, this is not simply a cosmetic adjustment.

It is a permanent improvement to one of AION 2's most useful movement systems.

All Four Quest Wings Have Been Buffed

The October 9 temporary maintenance changes the four Daeva wing rewards for both Elyos and Asmodians:

  • Daeva's Lesser Wings: 2,000 → 2,500 Flight Power
  • Daeva's Intermediate Wings: 500 → 1,000 Flight Power
  • Daeva's Superior Wings: 500 → 1,000 Flight Power
  • Daeva's Ultimate Wings: 500 → 1,000 Flight Power

Each pair gains 500, which means completing the normal quest progression now provides 2,000 more Flight Power than it did before today's maintenance.

This is particularly important because, as explained in our complete AION 2 Wings Guide, wings have separate Equipped Effects and Owned Effects. You do not need to keep wearing an old pair to benefit from everything it contributes to your collection.

The Lesser Daeva Wings Were Already Excellent

The first pair is the most interesting change.

Daeva's Lesser Wings already stood out because their 2,000 Flight Power ownership bonus was dramatically higher than the bonuses found on many ordinary collectible wings. The new patch pushes that to 2,500 Flight Power.

That makes one of the earliest guaranteed quest rewards in AION 2 even more valuable than before.

For new players, this reinforces something we mentioned in our things you should learn early guide: the main story is not merely a barrier standing between you and endgame. Several of its rewards feed permanent progression systems that remain useful long after the equipment around them has been replaced.

Why Another 2,000 Flight Power Matters

Flight Power determines how much freedom you have while using full flight, making it relevant to exploration, gathering and simply moving through Atreia without treating every cliff as a personal insult.

The improvement is especially useful when gathering resources such as Odyle. Our AION 2 progression mistakes guide already recommends using travel time and spare flight resources to gather rather than returning later for dedicated farming sessions. A larger Flight Power pool makes that approach considerably more comfortable.

It should be stressed that 2,000 additional Flight Power does not mean another 2,000 seconds of flight. Flight Power is the underlying stat feeding the system, not a direct seconds counter. Still, more of it means greater flexibility, and today's adjustment is completely free for characters progressing through the normal quests.

NC Is Tuning Progression Quickly After Launch

The wing buff continues a pattern we have already seen during AION 2's first Global week.

The October 7 update increased Raw Leather drops, added weekly Resurrection Spiritstones for Kina, changed Sealed Wing conversion limits and addressed several launch frustrations. Two days later, another small maintenance is improving a permanent progression reward.

None of these changes individually rewrite AION 2.

Together, however, they show NC watching how players are actually moving through the Global version rather than simply leaving the launch build untouched for several weeks.

Do Not Ignore the Free Wings

If you are rushing toward dungeon gear such as the wings available from Vakron Sky Island, today's change does not suddenly make the quest wings the best combat pair in the game.

That is not really the point.

Their value comes from being guaranteed progression. You complete the quests, collect the wings and keep their ownership bonuses while eventually equipping something better.

After October 9, that guaranteed route is simply worth 2,000 more Flight Power.

Sometimes an MMO patch does not need a new dungeon, twelve balance changes and a spreadsheet full of percentages to improve the game.

Sometimes it just lets everyone fly a little farther.
