AION 2 Beauty of Atreia Pet Contest Begins: How to Enter and Win Rewards

There are two reasons to collect pets in AION 2. The first involves permanent character progression, Genus Insight and the increasingly complicated business of turning adorable creatures into better combat statistics. The second is considerably simpler: some of them are absolutely ridiculous, and you would quite like to show them to somebody.

NC has apparently decided that the second reason deserves a competition of its own.

AION 2's Beauty of Atreia competition begins its Pet-themed round on October 19, giving Global players until October 25 to submit screenshots of their favourite companions. Five entries will be selected by the community management team, with each winner receiving two Shop Tokens and seven Dye Tokens. The selected screenshots will also advance to a final community vote in November.

It is the third themed round of the Beauty of Atreia event, which began earlier this month with landscape photography before turning its attention to player characters. Now it is time for Atreia's smaller inhabitants to take centre stage. Which is probably overdue, considering how much time players have spent turning them into mounts.

How to Enter the Beauty of Atreia Pet Contest

Unlike AION 2's more demanding launch competitions, Beauty of Atreia does not require clearing a difficult dungeon, reaching a particular leaderboard position or spending three hours experimenting with your character's eyebrows.

All you need is a pet, a suitable screenshot and the ability to submit it through one of NC's official community channels.

To participate:

  1. Log into AION 2 Global and choose your favourite pet or companion.
  2. Take an in-game screenshot featuring your pet as the main subject.
  3. Submit the screenshot through the official AION 2 Discord event channel, or publish it on X or Instagram.
  4. If submitting through social media, include the hashtag #BeautyOfAtreia.
  5. Include your region, server and character name so NC can identify your entry.
  6. Submit during the Pet theme period, October 19–25, 2026.

NC has not specified an exact closing hour for the weekly theme in its event overview, so leaving everything until the final minutes of October 25 is probably unnecessary excitement. Check the official event channel for any additional instructions or regional timing details.

The competition is part of the broader AION 2 Global launch event programme, which also includes character creation, guide writing and competitive dungeon rankings. Beauty of Atreia is the more relaxed entry in that collection, allowing players to celebrate the game's visual design rather than another demonstration of how quickly somebody can destroy a boss.

What Can You Win?

NC will select five weekly winners based on originality and creativity. Each receives two Shop Tokens and seven Dye Tokens, with rewards scheduled for delivery through in-game account mail by November 9.

The event's final stage runs from November 2 to November 9, when the community votes on selected weekly entries. Three winners from that final vote receive an additional seven Dye Tokens.

Competition Stage Winners Rewards
Pet Theme, October 19–25 5 selected entries 2 Shop Tokens and 7 Dye Tokens each
Final Community Vote, November 2–9 3 winners across the event 7 additional Dye Tokens each

The competition is not offering 6,000 Quna. That prize belongs to the separate Daeva Makeover character creation contest, which reaches its submission deadline on October 19. The two events overlap, but their entry requirements and rewards are different.

Which AION 2 Pets Should You Photograph?

NC has not restricted the Pet theme to one particular companion, nor has it announced a list of preferred creatures. That leaves players free to choose something charming, unusual or simply memorable from their collection.

A good starting point is the set of free companions made available around Global launch. Pagati remains a particularly recognisable choice, while Papis, Silver Blade Rotan, Konutin Worker and Black Smoke Murute offer rather different personalities.

We covered those companions in our guide to the free AION 2 pre-registration pets, including the options available to players who missed the original registration period.

And if you are still wondering why AION 2 makes such a fuss about collecting creatures, our Pet and Genus Insight Guide explains the underlying progression system. Pets are not merely decorations. Collecting and developing them contributes permanent bonuses, meaning that the adorable little creature following you around may eventually prove more valuable than another expensive equipment upgrade.

For this particular competition, however, combat statistics are not the point. A perfectly upgraded pet standing motionless in front of an inventory window is unlikely to make as memorable a picture as one caught in an amusing or atmospheric situation.

How to Take a Screenshot That Stands Out

NC says entries will be judged on originality and creativity, which gives players considerably more freedom than a traditional beauty competition.

Try photographing your pet somewhere that suits its personality. A small, cheerful companion may look wonderful against one of Atreia's enormous landscapes, while a darker creature could benefit from a ruined fortress or a particularly gloomy corner of Asmodae.

Think about composition rather than simply placing your character in the middle of the screen. Give the pet enough space to be clearly visible, avoid unnecessary interface clutter and consider whether the environment adds something to the picture.

There is no need to make your pet look heroic. In fact, an amusing screenshot of a tiny creature appearing completely unimpressed by the enormous magical war surrounding it may have rather more character than another perfectly symmetrical portrait.

The original pre-registration companion announcement provides a useful reminder of just how varied AION 2's creature designs can be. And our ten things every AION 2 player should learn early explains why starting your pet collection sooner rather than later is worth the effort, even if you have absolutely no intention of winning a photography competition.

Another Side of Atreia Worth Celebrating

Beauty of Atreia is a small community event, but it highlights something that can become easy to overlook during the constant pursuit of stronger equipment. AION 2 is an unusually elaborate fantasy world, filled with strange creatures, floating landscapes and character designs that invite players to experiment.

Not every memorable moment needs to involve a difficult boss or an enormous damage number. Sometimes it is the little creature you collected almost by accident, which has since accompanied you through fifty dungeon runs and several deeply regrettable PvP encounters.

The Pet theme runs until October 25, with the final community vote scheduled for November. Players interested in participating should check NC's official event announcement, prepare their screenshots and make sure their submissions include the required character information.

As for which pet deserves to win, that is entirely up to the community team.

Although somewhere in Atreia, a Shugo is probably already preparing a strongly worded complaint about not being the centre of attention.
