AION 2 Fast Gearing Guide: How to Build Power Without Wasting Resources

A practical early-endgame route for enhancement, Daevanion, Expeditions, targeted rewards and the upgrade materials that actually move your character forward.

QUICK ROUTE  Story/Journal rewards → establish a usable set → enhance the weapon first → add Manastones carefully → collect Daevanion power → use exploration and event shops for materials → farm Expeditions consistently → target missing slots through guaranteed rewards → move into Transcendence when your baseline is stable.

AION 2 can make gearing look more complicated than it really is because power comes from several systems at once. The fastest players are not simply lucky with drops. They are efficient with where they spend enhancement materials, which side systems they unlock, and which repeatable activities they farm. The core rule is simple: build enough power to reach the next reliable source of upgrades, then stop spending heavily on gear you are about to replace.

If you want the full long-term roadmap from early dungeon drops into crafted endgame gear, keep our AION 2 PvE gear progression guide open beside this article. This guide focuses on the practical habits that make the climb faster.

1. Build a Functional Set Before Chasing a Perfect Set

Your first serious goal is not perfect secondary stats. It is a complete set that lets you clear the next useful activity reliably. A slightly imperfect weapon that raises your damage enough to shorten every run is more valuable than waiting for a perfect roll while your progression stalls. Replace obvious weak slots first, then begin deeper investment only when the item is likely to stay with you for a while.

2. Enhance the Weapon First

Enhancement is one of the cleanest ways to turn materials into immediate power, but spreading those materials evenly across every slot is inefficient. During progression, the weapon normally deserves priority because faster kills improve nearly everything else you do: story progression, farming, Expedition clears and material income. Bring armor up when survivability or item-level requirements demand it, but do not turn every temporary helmet into a retirement project.

The Enhancement screen makes it easy to see why concentrated investment beats spreading materials across every slot.

3. Treat Manastones as an Investment, Not Decoration

The Manastone tab sits beside Growth for a reason: it is another real layer of power. Early on, use stones to support the stats your class actually benefits from, but avoid burning rare materials on equipment you expect to replace immediately. A higher item-level drop is not automatically better if it destroys a carefully built stat profile, so compare the whole item rather than only the number in the corner.

Manastones add another stat layer to equipment, so the value of a piece is more than its base item level.

4. Do Not Ignore Daevanion Progression

Daevanion boards provide permanent character power outside individual gear pieces. That makes them especially valuable because the investment survives when equipment changes. Unlocking useful nodes, especially the paths that support your damage or defensive role, can be more efficient than squeezing another tiny upgrade out of a disposable item. Treat Daevanion as part of gearing, not as optional side content.

Daevanion nodes provide persistent character power that does not disappear when you replace a piece of gear.

5. Exploration Is Also a Gearing System

Map completion, sealed dungeons and regional objectives are easy to dismiss once the main story starts moving quickly, but they feed materials, currencies and progression systems that later become bottlenecks. Clearing convenient exploration targets while you are already in the area is much more efficient than returning at endgame because you suddenly need a resource you ignored for twenty levels.

Regional exploration and sealed-dungeon completion feed progression materials that are easy to overlook while leveling.

6. Spend Event and Festival Currency on Progression Materials First

Temporary shops can quietly become some of the strongest gearing tools in the game. When a festival shop offers Daevanion Crystals, Soul Crystals, Stigma materials or other limited progression items, compare those purchases against cosmetics before spending everything. Fashion is eternal, but so is the regret of discovering you skipped a monthly material cap for a hat.

Limited shops can contain account or character-capped progression materials such as Daevanion and Soul Crystals.

7. Expeditions Are Your Main Repeatable Gear Engine

Once leveling gear stops carrying you, Expeditions become the backbone of PvE gearing. Farm the highest difficulty you can clear consistently rather than the one you can barely survive once. Reliable clears produce more rewards per hour, more practice and a much better route into higher item-level requirements.

Expedition screens show entry requirements, weekly rewards and the gear pool before you commit to a run.

8. Use Guaranteed Rewards to Fix Bad Luck

Do not let one missing slot hold your entire character hostage. Expedition reward screens show both random drop pools and guaranteed progression toward selected rewards. If your weapon, necklace or another key piece refuses to drop, use the guaranteed route instead of treating every run as a casino pull. Targeted rewards are how efficient players turn repeated clears into predictable power.

The obtainable-rewards panel lets you see which slots can be targeted instead of relying entirely on random drops.

9. Move Into Transcendence Only When Your Baseline Is Ready

Transcendence is where stronger characters start converting a solid build into serious endgame progress. Entry requirements and stage structure make it a poor place to compensate for a weak foundation. Stabilize your core gear, enhancement and side systems first, then push Transcendence when the runs are productive rather than merely possible.

Transcendence raises the bar again with higher item-level requirements and stage-based endgame progression.

10. Copy Principles From Strong Players, Not Their Exact Numbers

Inspecting geared players is useful because it shows what experienced characters prioritize across enhancement levels, accessories and stat layers. But copy the logic, not the exact finished build. Global balance differs from older regional versions, and your class changes what matters most. Use strong characters as a reference for priorities, then adapt those priorities to your own content and resources.

For a deeper breakdown of repeatable PvE, Expedition and Transcendence structure, see our AION 2 dungeon and PvE guide.

If you are about to invest heavily in late-game gear, read our Potential Enhancement guide before recycling duplicates or committing materials.

Global players should also remember that exact caps and progression values can differ from Korea and Taiwan; our Global vs. Korea comparison explains why older regional advice should be treated as a framework rather than a spreadsheet commandment.

Class priorities still matter. If you are unsure which offensive or defensive stats make sense for your role, revisit our guide to all eight AION 2 classes.

Fast Gearing Checklist

·         Keep the best usable weapon you can realistically maintain and enhance it first.

·         Do not over-invest in leveling pieces that will disappear after the next dungeon tier.

·         Use Manastones on keeper gear and align them with your class role.

·         Progress Daevanion whenever you can because the power is persistent.

·         Clear efficient exploration objectives and limited shops for progression materials.

·         Farm Expeditions consistently and use guaranteed rewards to target stubborn slots.

·         Enter Transcendence when your baseline makes repeated clears worthwhile.

·         Preserve rare resources for upgrades with a meaningful lifespan.

If you are still planning which character deserves those resources, our main-vs-alts launch strategy explains why splitting materials too early can slow the entire account. For broader launch preparation, the AION 2 Before You Play guide remains a useful checklist.

The fastest gearing route in AION 2 is not about pressing every upgrade button as soon as it lights up. It is about knowing which power survives, which gear is temporary, and which activity gives you the most reliable next step. Spend with a plan, target missing slots instead of praying for them, and the item-level climb becomes much less mysterious.
