AION 2 Odylium Repository Guide: Soul Crystals, Rewards and Shared Entries

AION 2 has added another dungeon to its growing collection of daily and weekly activities, but this particular addition comes with a catch. The new Odylium Repository promises Soul Crystals, one of the resources needed for long-term character progression. Unfortunately, entering it means giving up an opportunity to run another dungeon.

That is because Odylium Repository shares its entry allowance with Daeva Bio-Research Base. You can pursue the new Soul Crystal rewards or continue collecting the rewards available from the existing dungeon, but you cannot treat the two as completely independent activities.

Introduced in the October 28, 2026 Global update, Odylium Repository is therefore more than another destination on the dungeon menu. It introduces a practical decision about character progression: which rewards are worth spending your limited entries on?

For players developing their Pet and Genus Insight bonuses, the answer could be particularly interesting.

What Is Odylium Repository in AION 2?

Odylium Repository is a new activity in AION 2's Daily Dungeon category. Its main reward is Soul Crystals (Bound), with the amount awarded determined by the clear points earned during the encounter.

The new dungeon can be accessed through the Daily Dungeon interface following the October 28 maintenance. Players should check the displayed entry requirements, remaining attempts and available reward tiers before beginning.

NC's official patch announcement confirms the dungeon and its score-based rewards but does not include a complete boss walkthrough, detailed scoring breakdown or separate Item Level requirement. Those details should be checked against the current Global client rather than assumed from older regional versions.

Weekly Entries 14 per server in current Global community guides

The name Daily Dungeon can be misleading. Although these activities appear under that category, current Global guides list 14 entries per week, shared across the server. These are not 14 additional attempts awarded every day.

That distinction is particularly important for players maintaining several characters. The allowance is not something every alternative character can independently spend without affecting the others on the same server.

Our AION 2 Weekly Reset Guide explains why understanding the game's different reset schedules is essential for efficient progression. Daily quests, dungeon entries and equipment reward claims do not all follow the same rules.

The official October 28 patch confirms that Odylium and Daeva Bio-Research Base share their entry count. The exact weekly allowance comes from current Global community documentation, so the in-game counter remains the final reference if NC changes it.

Shared Entries: Why Choosing the Right Dungeon Matters

At first, the new system looks straightforward. Odylium Repository provides Soul Crystals, while Daeva Bio-Research Base remains available for players pursuing its existing rewards.

The complication is that both activities compete for the same limited entries.

Spend an attempt in Odylium Repository, and that attempt is no longer available for Daeva Bio-Research Base. This makes the new dungeon different from an ordinary content addition where players simply receive another activity to complete alongside everything they were already doing.

NC has effectively expanded the choice without expanding the underlying allowance.

That is not necessarily a bad arrangement. It gives characters at different stages of progression the opportunity to pursue resources suited to their immediate needs. A player struggling to improve equipment may value the existing dungeon's rewards, while somebody concentrating on Genus Insight could find Soul Crystals more useful.

But it also means that entering Odylium simply because it is new may not be the most efficient decision.

Before spending an entry, examine your character's immediate progression goals. Are you still working on essential equipment improvements, or have you reached the stage where permanent statistical bonuses offer more attractive returns?

Neither answer is universally correct. And unlike choosing between two swords with similar attack values, the value of these rewards depends heavily on what your character has already completed.

How Odylium Repository Soul Crystal Rewards Work

According to NC, Odylium Repository awards a set quantity of Soul Crystals (Bound) depending on the clear points earned. This makes performance an important part of the reward system.

The official announcement does not provide a full table showing the exact number of crystals awarded at each score threshold. Community resources have begun documenting the dungeon, but their detailed reward figures should not automatically be treated as confirmed official Global values.

For practical purposes, players should examine the reward preview in the dungeon interface and compare the results of their completed runs. This will help establish whether improving their score provides a meaningful increase in Soul Crystal rewards.

It is also worth remembering that a score-based dungeon does not necessarily reward the same approach as an ordinary Expedition. Defeating everything as quickly as possible might be useful, but the exact relationship between score, objectives and execution should be established through the live encounter rather than guessed.

Until the Global scoring system is fully documented, the sensible strategy is to learn the encounter, identify how points are awarded and improve consistency before worrying about elaborate optimisation.

The reward is also bound, making Odylium primarily useful for developing your own character rather than farming materials for resale.

Why Soul Crystals Matter for Genus Insight

The real attraction of Odylium Repository becomes clear once you look beyond the dungeon itself.

Soul Crystals are closely connected to AION 2's Pet and Genus Insight systems, which provide permanent character bonuses through collecting pets, developing their Insight levels and improving the statistics associated with different monster families.

As explained in our Pet and Genus Insight Guide, the system is considerably more important than its collection-oriented appearance suggests.

Every normal pet belongs to a particular genus. Developing the pets contributes to the corresponding Genus board, while Soul Crystals and Kina are spent through Analysis to improve the board's statistics.

A basic Genus Analysis currently requires 4 Soul Crystals and 1,000 Kina. That sounds inexpensive until you begin performing the operation repeatedly, especially when attempting to obtain particular stat combinations.

Locking existing statistics increases subsequent Analysis costs. For example, preserving one line raises the cost to eight crystals and 2,000 Kina, making careless experimentation surprisingly expensive.

This is why our existing guide recommends developing a Genus board to Level 10 before investing heavily in locked stat combinations. At that stage, better-quality stat rolls become available, making expensive optimisation more worthwhile.

The new dungeon provides another opportunity to collect the materials needed for that process. For characters with well-developed equipment but unfinished Genus boards, an additional Soul Crystal source could be particularly useful.

There is also an important distinction between general Soul Crystals and crystals associated with specific genera. Players should inspect the exact reward items they receive before deciding where to spend them, particularly when developing the Special Genus board.

And despite the similar names, Soul Crystals should not be confused with Soul Codex materials used for equipment Soul Binding. These belong to separate progression systems, which we explain in our AION 2 Soul Binding Guide.

Apparently, one system involving souls was not quite enough for Atreia's designers.

Other Ways to Farm Soul Crystals

Odylium Repository is not the only source of Soul Crystals, which makes its shared entry restriction somewhat easier to manage.

Hidden Cubes remain one of the more interesting alternatives. These treasure chests appear throughout Atreia's open world, often in places that reward players for exploring beyond ordinary quest routes.

Our Hidden Cube Locations and Rewards Guide explains where to search, how the spawn system works and why opening these chests can be valuable for Genus progression.

The October 28 update also increases Hidden Cube spawn frequency, potentially making exploration more convenient. NC has not published a precise new respawn interval, however, so players should avoid relying on unverified farming timers.

Another useful source is the new Atreia's Call attendance event, which began after the October 28 maintenance.

The official reward schedule includes 2,000 Bound Soul Crystals on days 6, 13, 20 and 27. Players who complete the relevant attendance milestones can therefore collect a total of 8,000 Soul Crystals from those four rewards.

These are event rewards rather than Odylium drops, and the two should not be confused when comparing farming efficiency.

The event continues until before the December 2 maintenance. There is also another upcoming source of Soul Crystals through the Ludra Conquest Check-In campaign, which begins November 4 and includes 3,000 Soul Crystals among its seven rewards. We cover that event in our Ludra Rewards Guide.

Between dungeons, Hidden Cubes and attendance events, players now have several ways to develop their Soul Crystal reserves without depending entirely on one activity.

Instant Clear Tickets and the Weekly Routine

The October 28 patch also adjusts Daily Dungeon Instant Clear Tickets.

NC lists a purchase price of 30,000 Kina per ticket and a limit of 14 purchases per server each week through the announced Wind Breeze Merchants arrangements.

These tickets can reduce the time spent repeating eligible content, but players should not mistake them for an unrestricted supply of additional dungeon entries.

Before purchasing tickets specifically for Odylium Repository, check the live item description, whether the new dungeon supports instant clearing and how the ticket interacts with the remaining entry allowance. The official notes do not establish that purchasing a ticket bypasses the shared dungeon limit.

That makes planning more important than simply buying whatever is available in the shop.

Players concentrating on Soul Crystals should compare the reward value of Odylium Repository with their remaining needs from Daeva Bio-Research Base, then decide how to spend the weekly allowance.

It is also useful to separate these entries from Odyle Energy. As our Odyle Energy Guide explains, Odyle governs reward claims in eligible Expeditions and other supported content. It should not be confused with Daily Dungeon entry tickets.

A character can therefore have plenty of Odyle Energy available while still being limited by the entry allowance for Odylium Repository.

For players managing several progression systems, the most useful habit is to check these restrictions before committing resources rather than discovering the difference after the opportunity has already been spent.

Is Odylium Repository Worth Farming?

For players actively developing Genus Insight, Odylium Repository deserves attention. Soul Crystals contribute to permanent progression, and the new dungeon provides another way to earn them through regular gameplay.

Its value is less obvious for characters that still depend heavily on the rewards available from Daeva Bio-Research Base. Because both dungeons share entries, choosing one necessarily limits access to the other.

The best approach is therefore not to declare Odylium the new mandatory farming activity, but to consider what your character needs most.

If Soul Crystals are holding back your Genus boards, Odylium offers a promising alternative. If your immediate priority lies elsewhere, there is no reason to abandon a productive existing routine simply because NC has introduced another dungeon.

That is what makes the addition interesting. Odylium Repository does not completely replace the older activity. Instead, it gives players another way to spend the same limited resource, with rewards aimed at a different part of character progression.

The dungeon may not be as spectacular as the new Hard Mode Expeditions, but it could become a regular stop for players working towards better long-term statistics.

And in AION 2, where even a seemingly harmless pet collection can eventually turn into a serious exercise in character optimisation, another source of Soul Crystals is hardly something to ignore.

Just make sure you actually need them before spending your entries.
