AION 2's first Global week has already delivered enormous player numbers, additional servers, emergency maintenance and enough unexpected interruptions to remind everyone that launching an MMORPG is rarely a particularly peaceful occupation. On October 8, European players encountered another problem when a cloud service outage disrupted 21 servers, leaving numerous Daevas temporarily unable to continue their adventures.
NC subsequently confirmed that the issue had been resolved and announced a compensation package for players on the affected worlds. The package contains several useful consumables, including Resurrection Spiritstones, Odyle Energy and additional content tickets. Players with certain paid services active at the time of the disruption will also receive an extra day. It will not replace the time lost to the outage, of course, but at least somebody has remembered to bring presents after breaking the furniture.
What Compensation Are AION 2 Players Getting?
According to NC's official announcement, eligible players will receive a Special Daeva Supply Chest through the in-game mail system. The chest contains five different types of bound items intended to help with combat, recovery and PvE progression.
| Compensation Reward | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Life Crystal (Bound) | 20 |
| Resurrection Spiritstone (Bound) | 10 |
| Battle Enhance Scroll (Bound) | 20 |
| Content Usage Ticket Selection Chest (Bound) | 5 |
| Odyle Energy (Bound) | 5 |
The Resurrection Spiritstones are particularly welcome for players exploring the game's more demanding dungeons, while the Content Usage Ticket Selection Chests offer additional opportunities to participate in supported activities. Odyle Energy is equally useful for players working on their PvE reward progression. These are practical rewards rather than another decorative item that will eventually disappear into an overcrowded storage tab.
For anyone still learning how the various activities work, our AION 2 Dungeons and PvE Guide provides a broader explanation of the game's group content and progression systems.
All 21 Affected European Servers
NC has confirmed that the outage affected ten Elyos servers and eleven Asmodian servers. Both established and newer worlds appear on the list, although the interruption did not affect every European server.
Elyos Servers
- Nezekan
- Kaisinel
- Ariel
- Meslamtaeda
- Nania
- Luteros
- Daminu
- Bakarma
- Kochi
- Tiamat
Asmodian Servers
- Zikel
- Lumiel
- Azphel
- Beritra
- Ulgorn
- Odar
- Kromede
- Baba
- Fafnir
- Agnita
- Atiel
If your character belongs to one of these servers, you should check your in-game mailbox for the compensation. Players on other European worlds should not automatically expect the same package, since NC's announcement specifically identifies the affected servers. Our AION 2 Global Launch Server List also explains how the newer Elyos and Asmodian worlds fit into the regional server structure.
Extra Membership and Pet Auto-Loot Time
NC is also extending two paid services for eligible players. Anyone with an active Membership on an affected server will receive one additional day of Membership, while players with active pet auto-loot will receive one extra day of that service.
These extensions are handled automatically during maintenance, meaning players do not need to submit individual requests to receive them. The distinction is important, however: the extensions apply to players who already had the relevant services active on an affected server, not to everyone who happens to own a character there.
Membership can be especially important in AION 2 because it provides access to several convenience and progression-related systems. Our Membership and Market guide examines those benefits, although players should remember that NC has already changed some trading rules for the Global release.
When Will Players Receive Their Compensation?
NC stated that the compensation would be distributed during the next maintenance period. The company subsequently carried out temporary maintenance on October 9 to improve server stability, while also delivering a separate maintenance compensation chest with a seven-day claim window.
Eligible players should therefore check their mailbox and account benefits rather than assuming every reward appears immediately upon logging in. NC has not clearly specified in the outage notice whether the Special Daeva Supply Chest is delivered once per account or once per character, so players should avoid assuming they can claim multiple packages.
The October 9 maintenance also brought an unrelated but welcome improvement to the four quest-obtained Daeva wings. Their combined Flight Power increased by 2,000, as explained in our coverage of the free quest wing buffs.
Another Reminder of AION 2's Difficult Launch Week
The interruption comes during a period of rapid expansion for AION 2 Global. NC has repeatedly opened additional worlds to accommodate demand, including twelve extra Advanced Access servers introduced shortly after the September 30 opening.
The October 8 incident was identified as a cloud service outage, rather than simply another maintenance window or a problem caused by players choosing the wrong server. NC has confirmed its resolution, but the incident illustrates how disruptive infrastructure problems can be during the opening days of a large online game.
For affected players, the practical advice is straightforward: check your mailbox, confirm whether your paid services received their extensions, and make use of the supplied consumables when you need them. If the promised compensation is missing, the official support channels are the appropriate place to request clarification.
Hopefully, the next surprise waiting for European Daevas will involve a rare item dropping from a boss rather than another unexpected visit to the login screen.
