There are few traditions in MMORPGs quite as enduring as defeating an enormous dragon, opening its treasure chest, and discovering that the one piece of equipment you actually wanted is nowhere to be found.

Sometimes the sword goes to a healer. Sometimes the perfect accessory refuses to appear for weeks. And sometimes the reward system seems almost personally offended that you expected something useful.

Fortunately, AION 2's latest Sanctuary encounter offers a little more certainty.

With Abyssal Forge: Ludra arriving on November 4, 2026, two new AION 2 bracelets have entered the equipment progression system: Abyssal Bracelet and Ludra's Bracelet. Both are Bound, both are associated with the new encounter, and both have different maximum Amplify levels.

But the most interesting difference is how players obtain them. The Abyssal Bracelet can drop directly from either difficulty, while NC has introduced a confirmed voucher-based Substance Morph route for Ludra's Bracelet.

That means players capable of consistently clearing Normal difficulty have a way to pursue the higher-Amplify bracelet without first defeating Ludra on Hard.

How to Get the AION 2 Ludra Bracelet and Abyssal Bracelet

According to NC's official November 4 Global patch notes, Abyssal Forge: Ludra features two difficulties with different entry requirements.

Difficulty Minimum Item Level Time Limit
Normal 2,800 60 minutes
Hard 3,000 60 minutes

Hard is intended for highly developed characters and coordinated Forces, but NC has deliberately avoided making Normal a dead end. Both difficulties offer the same categories of item rewards, although their drop rates differ.

As we explained in our earlier AION 2 Ludra Raid Preview, these Item Level requirements are entry conditions rather than promises of victory. A character with Item Level 3,000 can still have a very short and unpleasant meeting with the dragon.

The two new bracelets are:

Equipment Confirmed Acquisition Route Maximum Amplify
Abyssal Bracelet (Bound) Chance to drop in Normal or Hard Level 3
Ludra's Bracelet (Bound) Substance Morph using Ludra vouchers Level 5

The Abyssal Bracelet is the more straightforward option. Players have a chance to receive it from either difficulty, although NC has not disclosed exact drop probabilities.

That makes it a possible reward for groups still developing their equipment through Normal runs, without requiring them to reach the Hard entry threshold.

Ludra's Bracelet is more interesting from a long-term progression perspective. Rather than relying solely on a lucky reward roll, players can use specific Gear Change Vouchers through Substance Morph to obtain the bracelet.

The official announcement confirms this conversion route, but it does not establish a fixed number of completed runs required to obtain the necessary vouchers.

AION 2 Ludra Gear Change Vouchers: Normal vs Hard

The voucher system is where the new bracelet progression becomes particularly interesting.

NC has introduced separate Ludra-specific vouchers associated with the encounter's two difficulties. Normal offers Gear Change Voucher: Ludra (Bound) as a selectable guaranteed reward, while Hard offers Gear Change Voucher: Ludra (Hard) (Bound).

These are used in the following Substance Morph recipes:

Required Materials Result
6 × Gear Change Voucher: Ludra (Bound) 1 × Ludra's Bracelet (Bound)
3 × Gear Change Voucher: Ludra (Hard) (Bound) 1 × Ludra's Bracelet (Bound)
2 × Gear Change Voucher: Ludra (Bound) 1 × Gear Change Voucher: Ludra (Hard) (Bound)

At first glance, the Hard recipe looks considerably cheaper. Three vouchers instead of six sounds like a wonderful bargain, particularly in a game that rarely misses an opportunity to make equipment development expensive.

However, there is an important detail.

Two Normal Ludra vouchers can be converted into one Hard Ludra voucher. Consequently, six Normal vouchers carry the same conversion value as three Hard vouchers when used for this bracelet.

The conversion does not reduce the amount of Normal vouchers required. It simply provides another route between the two voucher types.

For players capable of clearing Normal reliably, that is good news. They can work towards Ludra's Bracelet through the same basic conversion value without being forced into Hard difficulty.

Hard groups, meanwhile, receive access to the corresponding Hard voucher and the encounter's different drop probabilities. But whether Hard provides better bracelet progression per hour depends on successful clears, reward availability and actual drop rates.

Those details matter because NC describes the Ludra vouchers as selectable guaranteed rewards. That does not necessarily mean one voucher is awarded automatically after every completed run. Players must check the guaranteed-reward interface, its progress requirements and available selections in the Global client.

It is also important not to confuse the Ludra-specific vouchers with the ordinary Gear Change Voucher (Bound), which can be selected through the encounter's guaranteed-reward system.

The ordinary voucher has a separate Substance Morph use: producing an Abyssal Forge: Weapon Selection Chest (Bound). It should not be assumed to substitute for the named Ludra vouchers in the bracelet recipes.

That distinction is exactly why our AION 2 Substance Morph Guide recommends checking the full recipe before consuming valuable materials.

One wrong conversion can turn a carefully planned equipment upgrade into an unexpectedly educational experience.

Is Ludra's Bracelet Worth Farming for Amplify Level 5?

The other important difference between the two bracelets is their maximum Amplify level.

Abyssal Bracelet can reach Amplify 3, while Ludra's Bracelet can reach Amplify 5. That gives Ludra's Bracelet two additional potential upgrade levels, making it an appealing long-term target for players developing an endgame equipment set.

But there is a distinction between an item's potential and its immediate value.

A newly acquired bracelet with a higher Amplify ceiling is not automatically superior to an existing accessory that has already received substantial investment. Its actual attributes, enhancement status and compatibility with a character's build still matter.

Nor does the patch provide a complete material-cost breakdown for taking Ludra's Bracelet from its starting state to Amplify 5.

Players should therefore avoid treating the higher ceiling as a free increase in combat power. It represents an opportunity to develop the item further, with the associated investment still to come.

We have seen a similar principle in AION 2's recent equipment adjustments. The October 28 update increased Amplify limits for several Dragon Lord crafting families, including True Dragon, Star Dragon, White Dragon and Dark Dragon equipment. Our Crafted Gear Amplify and Transfer Update explains how those changes affect longer-term investment decisions.

The same lesson applies to the new bracelets: maximum potential matters most when the item is valuable enough to justify reaching it.

Our PvE Gear Progression Guide examines the broader problem of deciding which equipment deserves expensive upgrades and which pieces are better treated as stepping stones.

Before replacing an established accessory, it is also worth examining what happens to previous investments. AION 2 contains several separate equipment improvement systems, and ordinary Gear Transfer does not preserve every possible bonus.

As detailed in our Gear Transfer Guide, compatibility and transfer previews matter enormously when moving valuable progress between items. Players should not assume that all existing improvements can be transferred onto either of the new bracelets.

For most players, the practical strategy is straightforward: pursue the difficulty your Force can clear consistently, keep track of the available Ludra voucher rewards, and compare the resulting bracelet with your existing equipment before spending heavily on amplification.

Groups still preparing for the raid can also benefit from the November 4 improvements to Exploration Dungeon rewards, which provide additional enhancement materials and other resources for character progression.

There is something reassuring about Ludra's new reward structure. A difficult raid boss can still be unpredictable, the desirable drops can still refuse to appear, and Hard difficulty still offers a formidable challenge.

But the bracelet recipes introduce a more deliberate goal. Players who are not ready for Hard can nevertheless work towards Ludra's Bracelet through Normal difficulty's voucher system, provided they complete the required guaranteed-reward progression.

It does not remove the effort. It gives that effort a clearer destination.

And after decades of MMORPG dragons treating their treasure tables like private collections, that is a welcome improvement.
