For years, MMORPG players have relied on an informal education system consisting of helpful strangers, enormous spreadsheets and somebody on a forum who somehow knows the exact drop rate of an item nobody else has ever seen.
It is not always an elegant arrangement. Sometimes your best source of information is a twelve-year-old discussion thread written by someone called DragonSlayer420. But without community guides, most massively multiplayer games would be considerably harder to understand.
NC apparently agrees.
With AION 2 Global's Guides for Glory competition, players can turn their knowledge of Atreia into something a little more tangible: 4,000 Quna, official community recognition and the chance to have their guide featured by NC.
The competition is already underway, but the submission deadline is approaching. Players have until November 2, 2026 to enter, and the rules specifically welcome guides published on independent fansites.
That last detail makes this event considerably more interesting than the usual screenshot contest.
What Is Guides for Glory, and What Can You Win?
Guides for Glory is one of several community events celebrating the launch of AION 2 Global in Europe and the Americas. Rather than rewarding the strongest character or the fastest dungeon clear, it focuses on players who can explain the game to other people.
NC is accepting original guides covering virtually any part of AION 2, including beginner progression, dungeon mechanics, classes, gathering, crafting and the Abyss.
The developer plans to select up to ten winners, each receiving the following rewards:
- 4,000 Quna, AION 2's premium currency.
- A permanent Tutor of Atreia title on the official Discord server.
- Inclusion in the permanent Official Guide Discord channel.
- Promotion through NC's official social media channels.
The competition runs from October 5 to November 2, with winners scheduled to be announced on November 16. NC says rewards will be delivered through in-game account mail no later than November 23.
There is no separate prize category for the longest guide, the most complicated spreadsheet or the player who manages to use the word "optimisation" forty-seven times in a single paragraph.
The important thing is producing an original, useful guide that helps the Global community.
How to Enter Guides for Glory
Participation is fairly straightforward, although there are a few rules worth checking before submitting your masterpiece.
- Create an original AION 2 guide. The topic can cover any aspect of the Global version, from beginner advice to advanced dungeon mechanics.
- Publish or prepare your guide. You can submit the text directly or provide a link to a specific guide hosted elsewhere, including on a fansite.
- Visit the official AION 2 Discord. Entries belong in the Community-Events channel.
- Include your region, server and in-game character name. NC requires these details as part of the entry.
- Submit before November 2. Follow any additional instructions displayed in the Discord channel.
For a fansite submission, NC specifically requests a direct link to the individual guide being considered. Linking only to a website's homepage is not sufficient.
Players are allowed to submit multiple guides, but each participant can win only once.
There is also an important originality requirement. Your submission must be your own work, and guides created before September 30, 2026, are not eligible. Older guides may be used as outlines when producing a new guide, provided the information remains accurate and relevant to AION 2 Global.
That is a sensible restriction. Nobody particularly needs another guide copied from an older regional release, especially when the Global version has different systems, reward structures and progression details.
NC has not published a precise submission cutoff hour or a detailed public scoring system in the event announcement. The safest approach is to submit early rather than gamble on the final minutes of November 2.
What Makes a Good AION 2 Guide?
One of the interesting things about AION 2 is how quickly its progression systems become complicated.
A new player may begin by worrying about equipment, only to discover that Daevanion boards, Stigma skills, Arcana cards, Pantheon decorations, dungeon rewards and several varieties of enhancement material are all competing for attention.
A useful guide doesn't necessarily need to explain everything. Often, it is better to solve one specific problem properly.
Take the AION 2 Arcana system, for example. Players must choose between different card sets, identify valuable skill bonuses and decide whether expensive Transmute crafting is worthwhile. A guide that explains those choices clearly can save readers a considerable amount of wasted Kina.
The same applies to permanent progression. Our Pantheon Guide examines which statues, artwork pieces and Divine Stats provide useful character improvements. It is the sort of subject where a simple explanation can make an otherwise intimidating system manageable.
Dungeon guides offer another opportunity. With the October 21 update introducing Hard Mode versions of Krao Cave and Draupnir, players now have additional mechanics, reward materials and progression requirements to understand.
A practical guide might explain the four-minute boss Frenzy timer, the three-revive limit, the 2,600 Item Level requirement and how the new rewards contribute to other systems.
Those details matter more than writing several pages explaining that bosses should be defeated before they defeat you.
Class-specific guides are equally welcome. A Chanter PvE Guide can help players understand combat roles and practical skill choices, while a Stigma progression guide can explain why certain upgrades are worth pursuing before others.
Beginners, meanwhile, may benefit more from a Fast Gearing Guide than from a detailed discussion of endgame damage optimisation.
Good guides have different audiences. The trick is knowing exactly who you are writing for.
Why the Fansite Rule Matters
There is something particularly encouraging about NC explicitly accepting fansite submissions.
Independent community websites have always played a major role in MMORPG history. Before every game had an elaborate collection of official tutorials, players depended on class forums, fansites, databases and homemade maps to understand the worlds they were exploring.
Many of those websites were created by people who simply enjoyed figuring things out and sharing what they learned.
Guides for Glory recognises that tradition. Participants do not have to keep all their work inside Discord or write exclusively for an official platform. An independently hosted guide is eligible as long as the specific article is submitted and the other rules are followed.
For smaller fansites, the potential benefit extends beyond the Quna prize. Being featured in the Official Guide channel or mentioned by NC could introduce useful community resources to players who would otherwise never discover them.
That does not guarantee traffic, an official endorsement of an entire website or a permanent backlink. It does, however, give independent guide writers an opportunity to have their work seen by a much wider audience.
Our Daevanion Guide is another example of the kind of specialised material that can help players navigate AION 2's interconnected progression systems. The introduction of the Ariel board on October 21 also shows why such guides need regular updates as the Global game evolves.
Accuracy is especially important here. A guide describing an old version of a mechanic may be beautifully written and completely useless to someone playing the current client.
And the person who follows it will probably remember the experience for all the wrong reasons.
Guides for Glory Deadline: November 2
There is still time to participate, but not an unlimited amount.
The official schedule currently lists:
| Event Milestone | Date |
|---|---|
| Submissions Open | October 5, 2026 |
| Submission Deadline | November 2, 2026 |
| Winners Announced | November 16, 2026 |
| Rewards Delivered By | November 23, 2026 |
NC reserves the right to modify the event, revoke rewards or cancel it, so participants should check the official announcement and Discord instructions before entering.
For everyone else, Guides for Glory may still produce something valuable: a fresh collection of community-written resources to help players find their way through Atreia.
Some will undoubtedly explain complicated dungeon mechanics. Others may finally make sense of crafting or permanent character progression. And perhaps somebody will produce the definitive guide to why your entire dungeon group insists on standing in the one place the boss is about to attack.
That last one could be particularly useful.
For the moment, the competition offers a welcome reminder that an MMORPG community is built from more than powerful characters and rare equipment.
Sometimes the most valuable player in Atreia is simply the one willing to explain how everything works.
