AION 2 Ariel Daevanion Board Guide: How to Farm Fragments, Unlock Crystals and Choose Upgrades

Somewhere in Atreia, a player has finally finished planning the perfect Daevanion build. Every point has been carefully assigned, every important skill has been considered, and the character is beginning to resemble something that might actually frighten a dungeon boss.

Naturally, NC has decided that what this player really needs is another enormous board full of glowing squares.

Ariel, the sixth Daevanion board, arrives in AION 2 Global with the October 21, 2026 update. Unlike the earlier boards, Ariel introduces a new progression route built around Hard Mode Expeditions. Players must collect Ariel Fragments from Krao Cave and Draupnir, convert them into special Daevanion Crystals through Substance Morph and use those resources to develop the new board.

It is a significant addition to AION 2's endgame because Ariel progression is tied to some of the game's most demanding newly introduced dungeon content. Simply collecting ordinary Daevanion Crystals will not provide the new resource.

And with two Hard Mode dungeons, separate fragment restrictions and an alternative recipe that turns fragments into Enhance Stones, there are several ways to make expensive mistakes before even opening the board.

What Is the Ariel Daevanion Board?

Daevanion is AION 2's permanent character development system, allowing players to unlock connected nodes that improve combat statistics, skills and specialised abilities.

Before the October 21 update, Global players had access to five boards: Nezekan, Zikel, Vaizel, Triniel and Azphel. Ariel expands that selection to six.

The difference is how you obtain its progression resources.

The original boards rely on resources earned through levelling, exploration, quests and other activities. Azphel has its own specialised progression currency. Ariel introduces another dedicated route: Ariel Fragments earned in Hard Mode Expeditions and converted into Daevanion Crystal: Ariel.

That separation is important for players who have already invested heavily in their existing Daevanion builds. You do not need to abandon your old progression plans simply because Ariel has arrived. The new board introduces another source of permanent improvement rather than turning all your previous decisions into wasted effort.

For a full explanation of how connected nodes, skill levels and the original boards work, see our AION 2 Daevanion Guide. It covers the original Global progression system and why planning a route through the boards matters more than randomly purchasing every attractive node.

How to Unlock Ariel Progression in AION 2 Global

The October 21 patch adds the Ariel board to the Daevanion system, but progressing through it requires access to the new Hard Mode Expeditions.

Both of the eligible dungeons require Item Level 2,600. That places Ariel progression firmly in the later stages of the level-45 endgame, rather than making it another resource players can easily collect during ordinary levelling.

Requirement Ariel Progression
Release Date October 21, 2026
Eligible Dungeons Krao Cave Hard Mode and Draupnir Hard Mode
Minimum Dungeon Item Level 2,600
Progression Material Ariel Fragment (Bound)
Crystal Daevanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound)
Conversion Method Substance Morph

NC's published notes do not provide a separate, detailed unlocking quest for the Ariel board. The confirmed progression requirement is obtaining and converting fragments from the eligible Hard Mode content. Players should check the Daevanion interface for any additional character-specific requirements when logging in after the update.

If your character is still below 2,600 Item Level, our AION 2 Fast Gearing Guide is a useful place to start. There is little point in obsessing over a new progression board if your equipment is not yet sufficient to enter the dungeons that supply its materials.

Where to Farm Ariel Fragments

Ariel Fragments are introduced as rewards from two Expeditions:

  • Krao Cave – Hard Mode
  • Draupnir – Hard Mode

These are not simply the familiar Normal encounters with a different reward chest. Hard Mode imposes a higher entry requirement, a four-minute boss Frenzy timer and a maximum of three revives per player.

The tighter Frenzy timer means parties need sufficient damage as well as the ability to survive. A group that can slowly defeat a Normal boss over a comfortable period may discover that its strategy is much less effective once the boss becomes dangerous after four minutes.

That also makes class preparation important. Efficient skill rotations, coordinated stagger abilities and appropriate defensive cooldowns can make the difference between a reliable clear and another evening spent explaining why everybody died at exactly the same moment.

There is another detail players should know: NC says the Ariel Fragment rewards vary between the two dungeons. The official notes do not provide a complete public table showing exact fragment quantities or every dungeon-specific restriction.

Until those details are clearly documented in the Global client, players should inspect the reward lists and Substance Morph recipes rather than assume that Krao Cave and Draupnir provide identical farming opportunities.

For characters trying to improve their performance before entering Hard Mode, our Complete Arcana Guide explains how better skill rolls, set bonuses and carefully chosen combat statistics can improve practical damage without relying entirely on Item Level.

How to Convert Ariel Fragments Into Daevanion Crystals

Once you have collected Ariel Fragments, the next step is Substance Morph.

Open Substance Morph > Special > Daevanion and look for the recipe producing Daevanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound).

The recipe requires 100 Ariel Fragments for one crystal.

Material Conversion Announced Limit
Ariel Fragment (Bound) 100 fragments to 1 Ariel Daevanion Crystal Up to 30 times per character, with dungeon-specific restrictions
Ariel Fragment (Bound) 1 fragment to 5 Enhance Stones Unlimited conversions

NC explicitly lists a limit of 30 Ariel Crystal conversions per character. However, the same announcement also says the number obtainable through Substance Morph is restricted separately for each dungeon.

Those statements leave an important detail unresolved: the patch notes do not fully explain how the dungeon-specific restrictions interact with the stated 30-conversion character limit.

Do not assume that each dungeon automatically grants an additional 30 conversions, or that fragments from both locations are freely interchangeable, without checking the recipes in the game. The correct planning numbers should come from the live Substance Morph interface.

The basic process, however, is straightforward:

  1. Reach the requirements for Krao Cave or Draupnir Hard Mode.
  2. Complete an eligible dungeon and obtain Ariel Fragment rewards.
  3. Open the Substance Morph menu.
  4. Navigate to Special and select Daevanion.
  5. Check the available Ariel Crystal recipe and remaining conversion limit.
  6. Convert the required 100 fragments into Daevanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound).
  7. Open the Ariel Daevanion board and use the newly obtained progression resource.

One small but important habit is worth developing: check the remaining conversion allowance before spending fragments. It is much easier to plan your farming when you know exactly how many more crystals can be produced.

Should You Convert Ariel Fragments Into Enhance Stones?

Here is where NC has introduced a particularly tempting alternative.

Alongside the Ariel Crystal recipe, players can convert one Ariel Fragment into five Enhance Stones. This recipe appears under Substance Morph > Special > Consumables and has no stated conversion limit.

At first glance, that sounds rather attractive. Enhancement materials are always useful, particularly for characters still working towards better equipment.

But there is an opportunity cost.

Every 100 fragments used for one Ariel Crystal could instead produce 500 Enhance Stones. Conversely, every 100 fragments converted into Enhance Stones are 100 fragments that cannot be spent on the new board.

For most players actively pursuing Ariel progression, I would prioritise the crystal recipe.

Enhance Stones have several other acquisition routes. Ariel Fragments, on the other hand, require newly introduced Hard Mode content and are subject to restrictions that may make replacing them considerably more difficult.

There are sensible exceptions. If you have reached your available Ariel Crystal conversion limit, do not need further board progression or urgently require Enhance Stones for a specific upgrade, converting surplus fragments may make sense.

Just avoid treating every fragment as disposable enhancement currency before deciding what you want from Ariel.

Our guide to costly AION 2 progression mistakes covers exactly this sort of decision: spending a scarce resource for a small immediate improvement while overlooking a more valuable permanent upgrade.

Ariel vs the Original Five Daevanion Boards

The arrival of Ariel changes the Global Daevanion overview, but it does not mean all six boards perform the same job.

Each existing board has a distinct role. Nezekan, Zikel, Vaizel and Triniel provide different combat and skill benefits, while Azphel is associated with PvP progression.

Ariel adds another specialised board linked directly to higher-level PvE activity.

Daevanion Board Main Focus Progression Context
Nezekan Combat Speed and Cooldown Reduction Original progression boards
Zikel Damage Boost and Damage Tolerance Original progression boards
Vaizel Critical Damage and defensive bonuses Original progression boards
Triniel Multi-Hit and Multi-Hit Resistance Original progression boards
Azphel PvP-oriented progression Specialised progression resources
Ariel New Hard Mode-linked progression Ariel Fragments and dedicated crystals

The exact node descriptions and optimal routes for Ariel are not fully documented in NC's October 21 announcement. Although older regional versions can provide clues, they should not be treated as definitive evidence of what Global players can unlock today.

That distinction matters because the Global version has already differed from Korean and Taiwanese progression in several important ways, including how many boards were available at launch.

Our original Daevanion board progression guide remains useful for understanding those established systems. Ariel should be considered an additional specialisation rather than a reason to ignore the existing boards.

Best Ariel Daevanion Upgrades: What Should You Choose First?

This is the question everybody wants answered, preferably before collecting the first hundred fragments.

Unfortunately, a trustworthy answer requires seeing the complete Ariel node layout, point costs and available effects in the Global client. NC has confirmed the board's addition and currency source, but it has not published a full node-by-node breakdown.

That means any guide promising a precise universal Ariel build immediately from the announcement alone should be treated cautiously.

What we can establish is a sensible method for choosing upgrades once you open the board.

1. Identify the strongest reachable nodes

Daevanion progression rewards planning. A powerful node at the far end of the board may require several intermediate purchases before you can unlock it.

Look at the total cost of reaching an important bonus, not merely the cost displayed on that final node.

2. Prioritise benefits your class actually uses

For damage dealers, the most valuable improvement is often the one that increases reliable sustained damage against bosses. Defensive characters may benefit more from bonuses that improve survival without sacrificing too much damage.

The correct balance depends on whether your character is struggling with the Frenzy timer, surviving major mechanics or maintaining an efficient skill rotation.

3. Compare percentage bonuses with skill upgrades

A small generic stat bonus can be useful, but unlocking an important skill breakpoint may have a larger practical effect.

Always consider your existing Daevanion, Arcana and Stigma upgrades before committing to a new route. A bonus that looks excellent in isolation may be less valuable if another system already provides what you need.

4. Avoid spending every point immediately

On release day, nobody needs to purchase the first available node merely because a notification says the resource is ready.

Explore the board, inspect the available paths and decide on a progression goal. If you are uncertain, saving your first crystal until the layout is understood is more sensible than making a decision you immediately regret.

Our AION 2 Combat Stats Guide explains why improving a character involves more than stacking whichever number happens to look most impressive.

How Ariel Fits Into Your Endgame Farming Routine

Ariel is not arriving in isolation. Its release connects Daevanion progression with Expeditions, gear development, crafting materials and the Pantheon system.

Both Hard Mode dungeons offer other rewards besides Ariel Fragments. NC has announced Philosopher's Stone: Revelation, increased Kina rewards, Unique crafting materials and a chance to obtain Expedition Hero Artwork.

That creates an interesting choice when deciding which dungeon to run.

A group interested primarily in Ariel may want to focus on the instance with the most useful fragment availability. Another group may prefer a dungeon that also offers missing equipment materials or an artwork reward.

The ideal farming route should therefore consider three questions:

  • Can your party clear the dungeon reliably before boss Frenzy becomes a serious problem?
  • Does the dungeon offer the fragment type and remaining conversion allowance you need?
  • Are its other rewards useful for your current character progression?

Until the individual dungeon fragment limits and drop quantities are fully documented, there is no reason to invent a precise fragments-per-hour ranking. Your group's actual clear consistency may matter much more than an assumed theoretical advantage.

Reward claims also need to be considered alongside AION 2's existing dungeon resource systems. Our Odyle Energy Guide explains how limited reward resources influence endgame farming decisions.

Players who are already pushing their equipment and permanent bonuses can also benefit from our Pantheon Guide, especially now that Hard Mode provides additional artwork-related rewards.

What If You Are Not Ready for Hard Mode?

There is a temptation whenever new content arrives to assume that falling behind on the first day means falling behind forever.

Fortunately, AION 2 contains enough progression systems that improving your character remains productive even when the latest dungeon is temporarily out of reach.

If you are below Item Level 2,600, concentrate on improvements that help you reach the requirement without creating expensive problems later.

Upgrade equipment you expect to keep for a reasonable period, use your existing Daevanion points efficiently, review important Stigma specialisations and improve your Arcana cards where useful.

It is also worth checking which upgrades will improve your actual performance once you finally enter Hard Mode. A higher Item Level may unlock the entrance, but it will not automatically teach your group how to handle a four-minute Frenzy timer.

Our AION 2 Weekly Reset Guide can help organise the activities that provide useful resources while you prepare for the new difficulty.

There is no shame in spending a little longer preparing. The bosses are unlikely to retire out of disappointment.

Common Ariel Daevanion Mistakes to Avoid

Most of the potential mistakes are straightforward, but they could become expensive once players begin farming fragments regularly.

Do not confuse Ariel Fragments with ordinary Daevanion Crystals. The new board has a specific conversion path. Existing crystal sources should not automatically be assumed to supply its progression resources.

Do not convert every fragment into Enhance Stones immediately. That option is useful for surplus materials, but it competes directly with Ariel Crystal production.

Do not assume both Hard Mode dungeons award identical fragments. NC explicitly says the fragments differ by dungeon, and separate conversion restrictions apply.

Do not treat the advertised 30 conversions as 30 per dungeon without checking. The announcement also refers to dungeon-specific limits, and their precise interaction requires confirmation in the game.

Do not copy an older regional Ariel build without checking the Global board. The node structure and progression availability need to match the version you are actually playing.

Finally, do not spend every available resource reaching 2,600 Item Level if it leaves your character unable to contribute effectively to the new encounters. Equipment requirements are an entry ticket, not a guarantee of victory.

Ariel Daevanion Frequently Asked Questions

When was the Ariel Daevanion board added to AION 2 Global?

Ariel was added with the October 21, 2026 Global update, alongside Hard Mode for Krao Cave and Draupnir.

Where do Ariel Fragments drop?

Ariel Fragments are rewards from Krao Cave Hard Mode and Draupnir Hard Mode. NC says the fragments awarded vary between the two dungeons.

How many Ariel Fragments are needed for one crystal?

Both eligible Hard Mode Expeditions require Item Level 2,600.

Is Ariel the sixth Daevanion board?

Yes. Ariel joins Nezekan, Zikel, Vaizel, Triniel and Azphel in the Global version.

Why Ariel Changes AION 2's Endgame

The addition of Ariel is more important than simply providing another page of upgrades to investigate.

It gives high-level Expeditions a new role in permanent progression. Krao Cave and Draupnir are no longer only places to collect equipment, crafting materials and the occasional painting. They are now sources of a currency connected directly to a new Daevanion board.

For established level-45 characters, that creates another reason to improve dungeon performance and organise reliable groups. For newer players, it provides a clear long-term target once the original gearing milestones have been completed.

The most sensible approach is to treat Ariel Fragments as valuable progression materials, check the conversion limits carefully and avoid rushing into node purchases before understanding the complete board.

The developers have given us another collection of magical squares, another resource to farm and another reason to return to Bakarma.

Somewhere in Atreia, a particularly dedicated player is already opening a spreadsheet.

And frankly, it is difficult to blame them.

AION 2 Adds Hard Mode to Krao Cave and Draupnir: Requirements, Rewards and New Ariel Fragments

Transcendent Bakarma has been enjoying a rather comfortable existence lately. Groups enter Draupnir, work their way through the familiar encounters, collect their rewards and gradually learn exactly how much punishment the great Balaur can take.

NC has apparently decided that Bakarma has been far too accommodating.

With the October 21, 2026 update, AION 2 Global is adding Hard Mode to Krao Cave and Draupnir, introducing an Item Level requirement of 2,600, a four-minute boss Frenzy timer and a limit of three revives per player. The new difficulty also brings some of the most interesting PvE rewards added since Global launch, including Ariel Fragments, Philosopher's Stone: Revelation, Hero Artwork and Unique crafting materials.

Most importantly, these dungeons now provide the materials needed to progress the new Ariel Daevanion board. That gives players a reason to return well beyond the usual search for another piece of equipment.

Krao Cave and Draupnir Hard Mode: Entry Requirements

Both dungeons already existed in AION 2 Global as Expeditions, with their familiar Exploration and Conquest content. Hard Mode introduces a more demanding option for characters that have moved considerably beyond their first level-45 equipment sets.

The new requirements are identical for Krao Cave and Draupnir.

Requirement Hard Mode
Dungeon Krao Cave and Draupnir
Minimum Item Level 2,600
Boss Frenzy Timer 4 minutes
Revive Limit 3 per player
New Progression Material Ariel Fragment (Bound)
Release October 21, 2026 maintenance update

Item Level 2,600 is a substantial requirement. Characters who have only recently reached level 45 may discover that they have quite a bit of preparation ahead of them before the Hard Mode entrance becomes available.

Our AION 2 Fast Gearing Guide covers the most efficient ways to raise your character's power without spending all your enhancement materials on equipment that will be replaced a few days later.

However, reaching the required Item Level is only the beginning. Hard Mode also changes how much time a group has to deal with the bosses.

Four Minutes Until Frenzy: Why Hard Mode Changes the Fight

The most intimidating part of the new difficulty may not be the increased Item Level requirement. It is the four-minute Frenzy timer.

Frenzy is the point at which a boss becomes substantially more dangerous. Rather than giving the party an unlimited opportunity to slowly grind down the remaining health, the encounter applies pressure to finish the fight before the boss becomes considerably harder to control.

In Hard Mode, that timer is set to just four minutes.

This does not mean the entire dungeon must be completed in four minutes. The announced restriction applies to the boss Frenzy timer, making damage output and efficient execution especially important during boss encounters.

Players who are accustomed to surviving through long fights will need to adjust. A group can have excellent defensive abilities, a capable healer and a tank who knows precisely where to stand, but none of those advantages compensates indefinitely for insufficient damage.

There is also the new limit of three revives per player.

A resurrection allowance offers some breathing room, but repeated mistakes become increasingly expensive. Losing a player during an important damage phase can cost precious seconds, while an unsuccessful recovery may leave the group fighting the next mechanic with fewer resources.

That makes proper positioning, efficient skill rotations and stagger management more valuable than ever. Our guide to the combat mistakes that keep getting AION 2 players killed explains why unnecessary dodges, poor positioning and badly timed stagger abilities can undermine an otherwise capable party.

What Changes in Krao Cave Hard Mode?

Krao Cave is one of the earlier Expeditions players encounter in AION 2, which makes its return as high-level content rather interesting. The dungeon that helped introduce players to coordinated boss mechanics is now being used to test considerably more developed characters.

One of its most recognisable encounters is Ultimate Berk, whose stagger mechanics already punish groups that use all their important abilities without considering what the boss will do next.

With the shorter Frenzy timer, that creates a more demanding balancing act. Players need to maintain consistent damage while keeping the right utility abilities available for dangerous mechanics.

It is tempting to attack constantly when a timer is ticking down, but a mistimed damage rotation that causes a wipe is rarely an improvement. Hard Mode rewards groups that know when to attack aggressively and when to make sure everybody survives the next few seconds.

NC's October 21 patch notes confirm the new difficulty and its general rules, but they do not provide a complete list of every Hard Mode-specific boss mechanic. Players should therefore avoid assuming that all encounter patterns remain identical to the lower difficulty until the fights have been properly tested.

Draupnir Hard Mode: Bakarma Gets Another Chance

Draupnir is the more elaborate of the two Expeditions, with a longer route and several memorable encounters leading towards Transcendent Bakarma.

That familiar journey involves navigating the fortress, using its transport systems and surviving enemies such as Predator Saraswati and Phantasmal Lakshmi before reaching the final boss.

Bakarma's existing encounter includes shockwaves and stagger mechanics, demanding both movement and coordinated use of skills. With a four-minute Frenzy timer in Hard Mode, players will need to handle those mechanics without allowing the encounter to become an extended exercise in cautious survival.

It should also make party preparation more important. Five players with strong equipment but no agreement about stagger timing may find themselves performing considerably worse than a coordinated group that understands the fight.

For players who have been farming Draupnir on Normal difficulty, the new mode provides another reason to revisit its encounters. The dungeon also contributes to permanent progression outside ordinary equipment through achievements and Pantheon rewards.

Our AION 2 Pantheon Guide explains how the Transcendent Bakarma statue and other dungeon-related decorations provide permanent Divine Stats.

All New Hard Mode Rewards

NC is making the more demanding encounters worthwhile by expanding their rewards considerably.

Players can obtain valuable equipment progression materials, earn more Kina than in Normal difficulty and work towards cosmetic rewards that are not available through ordinary dungeon farming.

Reward What It Means for Players
Philosopher's Stone: Revelation (Bound) Available as a potential drop and as a guaranteed reward selection
Ariel Fragment (Bound) Material for the new Ariel Daevanion board
Additional Kina Higher reward amount than Normal difficulty
Unique Crafting Materials Wrathful Mind, Wrathful Will and Wrathful Ego
Expedition Hero Artwork Chance to obtain collectible Pantheon artwork
Unique Skins Earned through new Hard Mode achievements

The Philosopher's Stone: Revelation is particularly attractive for players working on their Soul Binding progression. It provides another route towards improving valuable equipment, making Hard Mode relevant even to characters that are not immediately interested in the new Daevanion board.

The guaranteed reward option is worth noting separately from the random drop chance. NC has confirmed that Revelation can be selected through the guaranteed reward system; that should not be interpreted as a free stone awarded automatically after every successful clear.

Our Manastone and Soulstone Guide explains how secondary equipment upgrades and Soul Binding interact, and why expensive materials are best saved for items with a useful lifespan.

Another important change is that both Hard Mode dungeons can now provide all three Unique crafting materials: Wrathful Mind, Wrathful Will and Wrathful Ego. That should give players more flexibility when farming materials for specific crafting goals.

Ariel Fragments: The Real Reason to Farm Hard Mode

For many players, the most significant reward will be the new Ariel Fragment.

Until today's update, the Global version featured five Daevanion boards: Nezekan, Zikel, Vaizel, Triniel and Azphel. The October 21 patch introduces Ariel as the sixth board, bringing a new route for permanent character progression.

Unlike the earlier boards, Ariel uses resources obtained through the new Hard Mode Expeditions. Players collect Ariel Fragments and convert them into Daevanion Crystal: Ariel through Substance Morph.

Substance Morph Recipe Result Limit
100 Ariel Fragments 1 Daevanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound) Up to 30 conversions per character
1 Ariel Fragment 5 Enhance Stones No conversion limit

The Ariel Crystal recipe appears under Substance Morph > Special > Daevanion, while the Enhance Stone recipe is found under Substance Morph > Special > Consumables.

NC also states that the Ariel Fragments awarded differ between the two dungeons and that the number of crystals obtainable through morphing is restricted by dungeon. The announcement does not provide a complete breakdown of those individual limits, so players should check the in-game recipe information before planning an extensive farming schedule.

One practical recommendation is already clear: do not immediately convert all your Ariel Fragments into Enhance Stones simply because that recipe is available.

Enhance Stones can be obtained through several existing activities, whereas Ariel progression is tied to a newly introduced board. Players intending to develop Ariel should first consider how many fragments they need for their next permanent upgrade.

Our existing AION 2 Daevanion Guide explains the earlier boards, crystal farming and why the route you take through a progression board matters as much as the number of points you possess.

Hero Artwork and New Achievements Give Collectors a Reason to Return

Not every reward is about raising your Item Level.

Hard Mode also introduces a chance to obtain Expedition Hero Artwork, along with a new achievement for collecting these pieces. Since Pantheon artworks contribute permanent stats when displayed, these rewards are more useful than ordinary decoration.

There are also new Hard Mode achievements that reward Unique skins.

That combination gives different types of players something to pursue. Progression-focused characters can work towards Ariel and Revelation materials, while collectors can chase achievements, artwork and cosmetics.

It is a sensible way to keep an older dungeon relevant. Rather than simply placing another enormous monster at the end of a completely new corridor, NC has added reasons to revisit content players already recognise.

And if Bakarma had been hoping that his next appearance would involve fewer adventurers, the news could hardly be worse.

How to Prepare for Krao Cave and Draupnir Hard Mode

Players aiming to enter Hard Mode this week should prioritise a few things before forming a party.

  1. Reach Item Level 2,600. The entrance requirement is firm, but improving your effective combat statistics beyond that threshold will also help with the Frenzy timer.
  2. Review your important skills. A reliable PvE rotation matters more when the boss has only four minutes before Frenzy.
  3. Agree on stagger timing. Coordinate abilities that can interrupt or stagger dangerous attacks rather than spending them all at the beginning of the fight.
  4. Keep your defensive tools available. Three revives per player provide limited room for mistakes, not permission to ignore boss mechanics.
  5. Plan your reward claims. Consider which dungeon rewards benefit your character most before spending Odyle Energy.
  6. Check Ariel recipes first. Decide whether your fragments should contribute to Daevanion progression or be converted into Enhance Stones.

That fifth point is particularly important. Dungeon reward claims still interact with AION 2's Odyle Energy system, meaning the most valuable run is not necessarily the one with the shortest completion time. It is the one that gives you something your character actually needs.

Our complete Odyle Energy Guide covers regeneration, dungeon reward costs and why limited resources should be spent with a specific progression goal in mind.

Is Hard Mode Worth Farming?

For players who meet the requirements and can clear the encounters reliably, the answer looks promising.

The rewards address several progression systems at once. Revelation materials help improve equipment, Ariel Fragments unlock a new Daevanion path, Unique crafting materials support longer-term upgrades and Hero Artwork contributes to Pantheon collection goals.

But the four-minute Frenzy timer is an important warning that Hard Mode is intended for players with more than an acceptable Item Level. Groups will need appropriate damage, a sensible composition and enough familiarity with the encounters to avoid unnecessary deaths.

Players who are still working towards 2,600 should not feel compelled to abandon everything else and rush into Hard Mode immediately. Improving Arcana, Stigma, equipment and permanent progression remains worthwhile preparation. Our Arcana Guide explains how carefully chosen cards can improve important class skills and combat statistics before tackling the next tier of PvE content.

For the rest of us, October 21 marks an interesting turning point in AION 2 Global. Krao Cave and Draupnir are no longer merely stepping stones on the road towards stronger dungeons. They have become part of the next stage of endgame progression.

Bakarma is back, the rewards are better, and the clock is considerably less forgiving.

Four minutes, three revives and a whole new Daevanion board waiting on the other side.

At least nobody can accuse the old dungeons of becoming boring.
