AION 2 Rise to the Challenge Event: 60 Resurrection Spiritstones for 75,000 Kina Every Week

Death has always been a fairly temporary inconvenience in AION. One moment you are bravely confronting an enormous supernatural creature, the next you are lying on the floor wondering whether the healer has noticed. Fortunately, resurrection has a habit of making even the most spectacular defeat seem slightly less permanent.

The trouble, of course, is that Resurrection Spiritstones are not unlimited. Particularly when a group decides to spend its evening learning a difficult boss by repeatedly demonstrating all the ways a Daeva can be flattened.

NC has apparently decided to make that experience a little less expensive.

AION 2 Global's new Rise to the Challenge event begins October 21, 2026, allowing players to purchase up to 60 Resurrection Spiritstones every week for a total of 75,000 Kina per server. The event runs until maintenance on December 16 in Europe, giving players a cheaper supply of resurrection items while they tackle the game's increasingly demanding dungeons.

And with Krao Cave and Draupnir receiving Hard Mode in the same update, the timing is probably not entirely coincidental.

How Rise to the Challenge Works in AION 2

Rise to the Challenge is a shop event rather than a new dungeon or daily quest. You do not need to defeat a particular boss, collect a special currency or complete an elaborate series of challenges to obtain the advertised items.

Instead, NC has added two limited-time Resurrection Spiritstone packages to the Wind Breeze Merchants section of the in-game Shop.

The packages are arranged in two steps. You purchase the first one before the second becomes available.

Event Package Resurrection Spiritstones Price Purchase Limit
Step 1 30 25,000 Kina Once per server per week
Step 2 30 50,000 Kina Once per server per week
Total 60 75,000 Kina Per server per week

There is one important condition: Step 2 cannot be purchased until Step 1 has been bought. You cannot skip the first package and immediately purchase the second.

The rewards are delivered directly to your inventory, and the stones are bound, meaning you cannot trade them to another player.

That makes this a useful little event for both established endgame characters and players who are still building their first reliable dungeon setup. It is also considerably easier to understand than some of AION 2's other progression systems, which is almost suspicious.

Where to Buy the Resurrection Spiritstones

Once the October 21 maintenance has finished, the event packages should be available through the regular in-game Shop.

  1. Open the Shop menu.
  2. Navigate to Wind Breeze Merchants.
  3. Find the Rise to the Challenge Resurrection Spiritstone offers.
  4. Purchase the Step 1 package for 25,000 Kina to receive 30 stones.
  5. Unlock and purchase Step 2 for another 50,000 Kina if you want the remaining 30.
  6. Check the weekly purchase limit before the next reset.

The purchase allowance is tracked per server per week, not separately for every character. Players maintaining several characters on one server should therefore avoid assuming each character receives another sixty-stone allowance.

The distinction matters because AION 2 already has an impressive collection of shop restrictions. Some purchases are character-based, others are server-based, and remembering which is which can occasionally feel more complicated than the dungeon itself.

Our AION 2 Weekly Reset Guide covers the other limited purchases and activities worth checking before Wednesday's reset. Rise to the Challenge is another useful addition to that routine, provided you expect to use the stones.

How Is This Different From the Earlier Resurrection Stone Shop Update?

Players who have been following AION 2 Global since launch may remember that NC already introduced weekly Resurrection Stone purchases earlier in October.

We covered that change in our October 7 patch report, when standard Season 1 Resurrection Stones became available through a weekly shop offer.

Rise to the Challenge is a separate, limited-time promotion with two specific bundles: thirty stones for 25,000 Kina, followed by another thirty for 50,000 Kina.

Do not confuse the cost of an earlier individual-stone purchase with the price of these new thirty-stone packages. Likewise, check the current shop before assuming that all existing offers share the same allowance or restrictions.

The important point is that NC is making additional resurrection supplies available as more difficult PvE content arrives.

Do Rise to the Challenge Stones Expire?

Yes, and this is the detail players should pay particular attention to.

The Resurrection Spiritstones provided through Rise to the Challenge are time-limited Season 1 event items. They are not permanent additions to your inventory.

NC's event announcement lists their removal for December 16, 2026, at 09:00 CET on European servers.

That means buying several weeks' worth of stones and saving every single one indefinitely is not a particularly clever investment. Any unused event stones remaining when the removal time arrives will disappear.

Fortunately, NC has also introduced a sensible consumption rule.

When your character resurrects, the game uses time-limited Season 1 Resurrection Spiritstones before consuming your permanent bound Resurrection Spiritstones. Permanent stones are used only after the available event stones have been exhausted.

That makes it easier to avoid wasting your long-term supplies. As long as the temporary stones are available in the appropriate inventory, the game prioritises those first.

Even so, purchasing sixty every week is not automatically the best decision for somebody who rarely dies.

Should You Buy All 60 Resurrection Spiritstones Every Week?

That depends on what you are doing in AION 2.

For players regularly learning new bosses, practising difficult Expeditions or attempting more demanding content, sixty inexpensive resurrection stones can be genuinely useful. A wipe-heavy evening becomes slightly less painful when replacing your resurrection supplies does not involve a substantial financial commitment.

The October 21 update makes this especially relevant because Krao Cave and Draupnir now have Hard Mode encounters requiring 2,600 Item Level, a four-minute boss Frenzy timer and a limit of three revives per player.

But those dungeon restrictions are worth remembering: having sixty stones in your inventory does not mean you can ignore a boss encounter's revival limit. The items provide resurrection resources; they do not remove the rules governing individual activities.

Our AION 2 Fast Gearing Guide explains how to prepare your character for more demanding PvE content without spending valuable Kina on unnecessary upgrades.

For players concentrating on solo challenges, our Ascension Trial Guide covers a very different sort of limitation: three weekly entries that are consumed when you enter, even if the run fails. Resurrection stones should not be confused with additional entry tickets.

There is also no need to purchase the second package every week simply because it is available. If you are mostly doing quests, collecting pets or completing comfortable daily content, buying sixty resurrection items that you will never use accomplishes very little.

AION 2 provides more than enough opportunities to spend Kina elsewhere.

What Is the Best Way to Use the Event?

For most active players, the sensible approach is to treat Rise to the Challenge as an optional weekly supply rather than a mandatory purchase.

Start with the first package if you regularly need resurrection items. Thirty stones for 25,000 Kina provide a useful reserve for learning encounters without immediately committing the full amount.

If you find yourself using those supplies consistently, the second package provides another thirty stones for 50,000 Kina. Players practising difficult content several evenings each week may appreciate having the larger reserve available.

Before buying more, check how many temporary stones you already own and how long remains before the December expiration date.

That last point is especially important for players maintaining several characters or spending most of their time on lower-risk activities. The purchase limit is server-wide, while the items themselves cannot be traded. Plan which character should receive the rewards rather than buying them without considering where they will be used.

Our AION 2 Progression Mistakes Guide covers the broader problem of spending resources simply because a limited purchase is available. A discounted item is useful only when it serves a real purpose.

For players who prefer the more dangerous parts of Atreia, our Conquerors of the Abyss Guide explores another October event where Kina can be exchanged for additional opportunities to participate in challenging content. The two promotions have different rules and, importantly, different expiration dates.

Rise to the Challenge Event Dates and Important Rules

Event Detail Global Europe
Event Begins After maintenance, October 21, 2026
Purchases End Before maintenance, December 16, 2026
Temporary Stones Removed December 16, 2026, at 09:00 CET
Maximum Weekly Purchase 60 stones per server
Full Weekly Price 75,000 Kina
Trading Not permitted

The event runs over several weekly reset cycles, so there is no need to make every purchase on October 21. Players can return to the shop in later weeks as long as the event remains active and the weekly allowance has refreshed.

Just remember that the items remain temporary regardless of when you purchased them. A stone obtained in late November does not receive a new personal expiration date extending beyond the event's announced removal schedule.

A Small Event With Surprisingly Useful Timing

Rise to the Challenge is not the most spectacular addition in the October 21 update. It does not introduce a new region, another class or an enormous dragon that requires fifty players to defeat.

Instead, it offers something rather practical: a less expensive way to recover from the inevitable mistakes involved in learning difficult content.

And with Hard Mode Expeditions arriving at the same time, players will undoubtedly find plenty of opportunities to make those mistakes.

The first thirty stones are particularly attractive for active dungeon players, while the second package makes sense for those who expect to use a larger supply. Just keep the December 16 expiration in mind and avoid accumulating more temporary items than you can realistically consume.

In AION 2, resurrection has never been the difficult part.

It's convincing the boss to stop killing you immediately afterwards.
