AION 2 Conquerors of the Abyss Guide: How to Get More PvP Time for 50,000 Kin

There was a time when entering the Abyss in AION meant accepting that your peaceful evening might end with several angry Asmodians introducing themselves through the business end of a sword. That particular tradition has survived remarkably well in AION 2, although modern Atreia has added another enemy to the experience: the clock.

Fortunately, NC has decided to give players an opportunity to purchase a little more time before their next unfortunate encounter.

AION 2's Conquerors of the Abyss event runs from October 14 until the scheduled maintenance on October 28, 2026, allowing Global players to purchase additional Abyss Rift Stones for 50,000 Kina each. Characters must be at least level 45, and the weekly purchase limit is seven stones per character. Each stone provides an additional hour of Lower Abyss time, making the event particularly interesting for players concentrating on PvP progression, Abyss Points and the rewards hidden inside one of Atreia's most dangerous regions.

It is a relatively modest event compared with the elaborate Abyss, Rifts and Arena systems introduced before Global launch, but sometimes an extra hour is worth considerably more than an elaborate new activity. Particularly when you have already spent most of your available time looking for the enemy.

How to Get Abyss Rift Stones During the Event

The process is straightforward, although AION 2 has enough currencies, merchants and special menus that a little navigation never hurts.

  1. Reach level 45 on the character purchasing the stone.
  2. Open the in-game Shop.
  3. Select Wind Breeze Merchants.
  4. Open the Special tab.
  5. Find Abyss Rift Stone (Event) and purchase it for 50,000 Kina.
  6. Use the stone when you need additional Lower Abyss time.

The limit is seven purchases per character per week, rather than seven across your entire server. That distinction matters for players maintaining several characters, although you still need to meet the level requirement and pay the purchase cost on each eligible character.

There is also a separate Lower Abyss Rift Stone available through the Halloween event merchant for Pumpkin Coins. The two acquisition methods should not be confused. Our AION 2 Halloween Event Guide explains how to earn that seasonal currency and which rewards deserve attention.

How Much Kina Do You Need?

If you intend to purchase the full weekly allowance, the calculation is pleasantly uncomplicated. Each Rift Stone costs 50,000 Kina, and seven purchases therefore require 350,000 Kina per character per week.

Rift StonesTotal CostExtra Abyss Time
150,000 Kina1 hour
3150,000 Kina3 hours
5250,000 Kina5 hours
7350,000 Kina7 hours

Buying the full allowance during two weekly purchase cycles would cost 700,000 Kina per character, provided both allowances remain available before the event ends. That is a considerable investment for anyone still spending heavily on equipment upgrades.

And this is where the decision becomes interesting. The Abyss can provide valuable progression, but spending every available coin on additional entry time is not automatically sensible. Our guide to costly AION 2 progression mistakes explains why resources are better spent with a clear objective than simply because another purchase button has appeared.

Why Extra Abyss Time Matters

The Abyss is more than a large battlefield where Elyos and Asmodians occasionally discover creative new uses for crowd control. It also provides access to Abyss Points, faction objectives, bosses and rewards that contribute to character progression.

Extra time becomes particularly valuable when you can combine several of those activities. Hunting ordinary enemies for an hour may provide something useful, but participating in faction objectives or a properly organised boss encounter can give that same hour considerably more purpose.

Our AION 2 Field Boss Farming Guide explains why Abyss bosses deserve attention, particularly when their rewards include Proof of Hero and opportunities to obtain additional Abyss Points through Merit Chests.

NC's October 14 update also adds Abyss Entry Stones to two weekly Abyss missions: spending one hour in the Abyss and defeating Guardian Lord Nahma once. Combined with the Conquerors event, these changes give dedicated players more ways to extend their activities without relying entirely on the usual entry allowance.

There is one practical limitation worth remembering. AION 2's accumulated Abyss entry time is capped at seven hours, so players should check their available time before using additional stones rather than assuming they can stockpile an unlimited number of hours.

Don't Let Your Rift Stones Expire

The event stones are not intended to become permanent souvenirs. The Lower Abyss Rift Stone's item information specifies a seven-day lifetime after acquisition, so players should check the expiration timer in their inventory before purchasing several at once.

This makes buying stones only when you expect to use them a sensible approach. If you have a busy week ahead, purchasing the full allowance immediately may simply turn 350,000 Kina into an expensive collection of disappearing icons.

It is also worth remembering that Conquerors of the Abyss ends with maintenance on October 28 in Europe, a week before the Halloween celebration finishes. Do not assume both seasonal activities share the same deadline.

The Best Way to Use Your Extra Abyss Time

For players interested in efficiency, preparation matters more than purchasing every available stone. Check the Abyss map, identify relevant objectives and coordinate with your Legion before extending your entry time. If a valuable boss is expected or your faction is organising a larger operation, that is generally a better reason to spend Kina than entering the Abyss simply because you have nothing else planned.

The same principle applies to the broader weekly routine. Our AION 2 Weekly Reset Guide explains how Abyss activities fit alongside dungeon rewards, Season Missions and the currencies needed for long-term character progression.

Players who are primarily interested in PvE should not feel compelled to purchase every stone. Abyss progression can support a stronger character, but there is little value in buying seven additional hours if you have no intention of using them. Those resources might accomplish considerably more elsewhere.

For dedicated PvP players, however, Conquerors of the Abyss is a welcome opportunity. Seven additional hours per weekly allowance creates room for more faction battles, more objectives and hopefully a few encounters where the opposing faction remembers that being attacked is supposed to be a two-way arrangement.

The Abyss has always been one of AION's defining features. It is dangerous, unpredictable and occasionally deeply unfair, which is presumably why so many players keep returning.

NC is now selling a little more time to enjoy it.

What you do with that time remains your problem. Preferably something more productive than spending another hour being chased across the sky by an Assassin.
