AION 2 October 28 Deadline: Free Server Transfers, Abyss Rift Stones and Odyle Energy Limits

There is a particular kind of panic familiar to every MMORPG player. It usually begins when you discover that something valuable has been available for the past two weeks, and that the opportunity to obtain it is about to disappear while you are busy organising your inventory.

AION 2 Global is approaching one of those moments.

Wednesday, October 28, 2026, marks the scheduled end of several temporary opportunities, including free Launch Server transfers, the Conquerors of the Abyss Rift Stone event and the expanded Odyle Energy purchase allowances at Wind Breeze Merchants.

All three were introduced to help players through the first weeks of Global launch, but they serve rather different purposes. One lets you move to another world, another gives you more time in the Abyss, and the third helps you claim additional dungeon rewards.

None is particularly complicated on its own. Remembering the restrictions, however, is another matter.

And with maintenance approaching, now is a sensible time to check what you still need.

Free Launch Server Transfers End October 28

The most important deadline concerns players who want to move their characters to another server.

NC divided its initial free transfer programme into two separate periods. Early Access Server transfers ran from October 14 to October 21, while regular Launch Server transfers opened on October 21 and are scheduled to finish before maintenance on October 28.

For European players, the standard application windows are:

Application Window European Time
First daily window 12:00–16:00 CET
Second daily window 18:00–22:00 CET
Transfer period ends Before October 28 maintenance

Europe switched to winter time on October 25, so the remaining application windows use CET rather than CEST.

There is one important qualification: because the event ends before maintenance on October 28, players should not assume that both normal Wednesday application windows will be available. If you have already decided to transfer, use an eligible window before the deadline rather than relying on a final opportunity after maintenance begins.

Our Launch Server Transfer Checklist covers the requirements in detail, including the separate opening schedule introduced on October 21.

The transfer itself costs 0 Quna, and NC permits one server transfer per account during the initial event. Eligible characters can move together, although additional character slots at the destination may cost 1,000 Quna each.

Transfers must remain within the same region, faction and server category. An Elyos character cannot simply move onto an Asmodian server, and a European character cannot use the service to relocate to North America.

More importantly, individual servers have limits on incoming and outgoing transfers.

NC updates capacity information hourly, but a destination reaching its limit can become unavailable before the event officially ends.

That makes waiting until the final evening rather risky, especially for Legions attempting to move several members together.

We covered the problem in our Server Transfer Capacity Warning.

Before applying, make sure you have left your Legion, completed relevant Duty Missions, collected outstanding Market items and sales proceeds, and cleared any mail or Shop Storage rewards that would block the transfer.

There is another detail worth checking twice: Character Storage transfers, but Server Storage contents do not.

Move important items and Kina out of Server Storage before confirming the request.

Also prepare for the possibility that your character's name is already taken at the destination. NC assigns transferred characters a temporary name and requires players to choose a name when they first log in afterwards.

Moving house in Atreia is free. Remembering where you packed everything is apparently still your responsibility.

Conquerors of the Abyss: Final Chance to Buy Rift Stones for Kina

The second deadline concerns players who enjoy spending their evenings in one of AION's most dangerous environments.

The Conquerors of the Abyss event runs until the October 28 maintenance, allowing characters of level 45 or higher to purchase additional Lower Abyss Rift Stones through Wind Breeze Merchants.

Each stone costs 50,000 Kina and grants one additional hour of Lower Abyss entry time.

Rift Stones Total Cost Additional Abyss Time
1 50,000 Kina 1 hour
3 150,000 Kina 3 hours
5 250,000 Kina 5 hours
7 350,000 Kina 7 hours

The purchase limit is seven stones per character per week. They are available through Shop > Wind Breeze Merchants > Special, subject to the event's remaining availability.

However, there is a reason not to buy seven stones merely because you still can.

The event stones expire seven days after acquisition. They are not permanent entry passes, and the Lower Abyss also has a maximum accumulated entry-time allowance.

Buying a large collection of stones with no plan to use them is an efficient way to convert Kina into disappointment.

Our Conquerors of the Abyss Guide explains the event, the weekly purchasing limits and how to plan those additional hours around meaningful PvP objectives.

Dedicated Abyss players may appreciate the extra time for faction activity, bosses and seasonal progression. Players primarily interested in PvE should consider whether that Kina would be more valuable elsewhere.

There is also a separate Abyss Rift Stone available through the Halloween event shop for Pumpkin Coins. The October 28 deadline concerns the temporary Kina purchase event, not the entire Halloween programme, which continues towards November 4.

Our Halloween Event Guide covers those separate seasonal rewards.

Odyle Energy: The Temporary 20-Purchase Limit Is Ending

The third change may be particularly important for characters working on their equipment before Ludra's return.

During the server transfer period, NC adjusted how Odyle Energy is sold through Wind Breeze Merchants.

Normally, the merchant's weekly allowance was limited to four Odyle Energy items per character, with a maximum of sixteen purchases shared across a server.

For the transfer period, NC removed the weekly server limit and raised the character allowance to twenty.

Purchase Restriction Before Transfer Event Temporary Event Rules
Weekly per-character limit 4 20
Weekly per-server limit 16 Removed
Availability of temporary arrangement Not applicable Transfer period through October 28

That is a substantial increase, particularly for players maintaining several characters on the same server.

But it does not mean NC is giving everyone twenty free Odyle Energy items. These remain merchant purchases, and players must pay the displayed price.

We examined the original change in our Odyle Energy Purchase Limit Update.

NC described these allowances as temporary arrangements for the transfer period. It has not confirmed in the October 14 announcement exactly what the permanent purchase limits will be after October 28.

The previous four-per-character and sixteen-per-server limits provide a useful comparison, but players should check the merchant after maintenance rather than assume those rules will necessarily return unchanged.

There is another complication.

During the same period, Soul Crystals and Daily Dungeon Instant Clear Tickets were moved out of Wind Breeze Merchants' Special section and made available through Substance Morph > Special > Wind Breeze Merchants.

These temporary shop changes should not be confused with the normal Substance Morph recipes used to create Odyle Energy from gathered materials.

Our Odyle Energy Guide explains the distinction, including why additional energy increases the number of dungeon rewards you can claim rather than automatically increasing your dungeon entry allowance.

If you are farming equipment for the upcoming Ludra raid, unused weekly purchase capacity may be valuable. But if you are already sitting on plenty of energy, there is no reason to spend Kina simply to reach the maximum purchase count.

What Changes After October 28?

It is worth separating the events that end with maintenance from those beginning afterwards.

The free Launch Server transfer period and the temporary Conquerors of the Abyss purchases are scheduled to finish. The expanded Wind Breeze Merchants allowances are also tied to the transfer period, with their subsequent rules awaiting confirmation.

But October 28 also marks the beginning of a new reward opportunity.

NC's Odyle Energy Boost promotion is scheduled to start after maintenance, distributing two Odyle Energy items per character per day through in-game mail until the November 11 maintenance in Europe.

That is separate from the Wind Breeze Merchants purchase allowance and should not be confused with it.

Our Ludra Twitch Drops and Free Rewards Guide covers that promotion alongside the November login bonuses and fourteen Twitch Drops milestones.

And with Sanctuary Raid: Ludra returning on November 4, characters aiming for Item Level 2,800 in Normal Mode or 3,000 in Hard Mode will have plenty of reasons to keep farming.

For a broader overview of weekly activities worth completing before maintenance, consult our Weekly Reset Guide.

That leaves three sensible priorities before Wednesday.

  1. Finish your server transfer if you have decided to move, and verify that all your important possessions are in transferable storage.
  2. Review your Abyss Rift Stone purchases if you are level 45 or higher and expect to use the additional time before the stones expire.
  3. Check your remaining Odyle Energy merchant allowance and decide whether buying additional reward opportunities makes sense for your current progression.

You do not need to buy every available consumable, and you certainly do not need to transfer servers merely because the service costs nothing.

But if you have been planning to use one of these temporary opportunities, now is the time to act.

Wednesday's maintenance will arrive whether you are ready or not.

And while Atreia contains more than enough monsters willing to chase you across half the map, the calendar is considerably harder to outrun.
